I was only listing 5. But Munson had his career cut and have Dickey a little further down is why they aren't it. Let me guess your list: Munson Berra Dickey Posada Howard Those are some great ones by everyone, but I'd add Molina to that list.

The position has changed so much over the years from pure LBs to hybrids. There are some fantastic players that could go on the list. Greene was another great Ram/Steeler. Speaking of hybrids, at least that's what I'm going to call the massive William Perry, who I think kept moving between defensive and offensive teams through his career. Do you remember 1985 superbowl? He ran straight over or through the Patriots LBs to score a TD. I'm not sure of Perry's position, FB, HB or RB? It probably doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure he started life as a LB and 300+ pounds of raw intent when it's 1st Down and goal is pretty difficult to stop when it's moving like that. I don't know much about American Football, played a bit of 4th and inches and John Madden Football in 80s but it's way too complicated for me. Hard hitting I can appreciate. I enjoyed WWF back in the mid 80s and The Refrigerator, along with a few other 250+ pound Pro Football stars from various NFL teams and wrestlers got it on in a 20 man Battle Royale at Wrestlemania 2. He was larger than life. His nickname was "The Fridge", as in big as a refrigerator.

Best sports game you ever been in attendance......
For me it was game four of the 2010 NHL Western Conference Finals. San Jose scored the first two goals and the Hawks responded with four unanswered and a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. The United Center was SO loud. The energy was something I'll never forget.

The best one I’ve ever seen was a high school football game. A local high school was playing in the semifinal round of the playoffs against the reigning state champs. That game went 4 overtime’s with the local team losing on a failed 2pt conversion attempt.

I can't believe I forgot...I was at Yankee Stadium for Roger Clemen's 300th win and 4000th strikeout. It was my third attempt to see Rocket win his 300th. I was at Wrigley two starts earlier and saw Kerry Wood outduel Clemens. His next start was in Detroit. My wife and drove up for the game and watched the Yanks win in 17 innings. Clemens got a no decision. I figured I might as well finish my journey to see his 300th and drove to NY for his next start against the Cardinals.

I like the United Center. That would have been very cool. My sophomore year winning the AZ state baseball championship over Sahuaro was the best event I've been part of. Best event I've seen was watching my youngest son play pony league football at halftime of a Vikings game in the Metrodome. The crowd was big because they were playing the Cowboys. They got randomly picked from teams across the state and it was awesome watching the crowd go nuts for a bunch of 5th/6th graders. Very cool to see all the Vikings high fiving the kids as they ran into the tunnel right before the 2nd half.

I would probably say LSU vs Oregon at AT&T Stadium in 2011. Had seats next to top row but the crowd was nuts since LSU dominated the whole game.
Probably should have been LSU vs Florida in 1996 but had too much to drink and didn't quite make it to the game. I did get to go on the field after several other wins but none were as big as that. Alas we can't go on the field anymore since someone got donked by a goalpost.
Probably a second is Celtics vs Pelicans a few years ago. Pelicans game back from a big deficit (I know, shocking in an NBA game). It was when Chris Paul was there and got to hear the Ric Flair "Whooooo" whenever he did something..lol

When I was playing 9th grade FB, I played in a game where we were down 16-10 with about 3:xx minutes to go. I was a kick returner/RB. I took the kickoff, after the other team scored to make it 16-10, straight up the middle and it parted like the Red Sea. I thought I was going to score but I got strip-tackled inside the 10 and lost the fumble. We got the ball back but ran out of time. I finished that game with 160 yards on the ground. By far, my personal best

I would liked to have seen Wood v Clemens I don't know if anyone remembers J.R. Richard from the mid-late 70s, but he was a pitcher for the Astros and had a stroke. Very good power pitcher...threw absolute heat...ball looked like an aspirin tablet. Yankees may remember this, but he tried to make a comeback from his stroke in the early 80s and had a stint with the Tucson Toros (Houtson's AAA team). I remember sitting on a seat at the stadium in I think 82 and he sauntered over and talked to me for about 20 minutes telling me how he liked to strike out Bench and pitch against Vida Blue. He never did make his comeback, but the mention of Woods/Clemons made me think of power pitchers and he sure was a power pitcher. I think Nolan Ryan easily beat his strike out numbers for the Astros.

Ok, how about at the plate? I’m going to toss out some names
In my opinion, the list has to start with either DiMaggio or Williams. For me, it’s hard to pick between a guy who hit .400 for a season or a 56 game hitting streak. There are strong arguments either way for those two. After that, it’s wide open
Boggs Gywnn Ichiro Terry Pendleton Aaron, power and average Rod Carew, who is the best pure hitter I’ve seen
I know there are plenty of guys I’ve left out

I’d throw the following on the list too. Puckett Brett Mauer Pujols Molitor Jeter Rose
I was too young to remember them, but my father was a big fan of Clemente and Aaron.

SO many good hitters to compare. Joltin Joe hasn't even been mentioned yet......

Hitting is a diverse category and that’s why I started out with a generalized list. Mine is a very short list of guys that I think of as pure hitters save Aaron who was a good blend of both power and average. It can certainly be broken down in to multiple lists

Too many good ones in so many different ways- avg, power, avg/power, etc.
