This is a hard one also..especially if you only did 5. Amazing a lot had their careers cut short by choice or injuries. Why a few aren't on the list (Bo Jackson & Terrell Davis)
Brown Smith Peterson Sanders Payton Bettis Campbell Dorsett

I like Peterson as well. Snore mentioned Marcus Allen. The RB position has had so many good players and that is what makes it so difficult to slot them. Another one that comes to mind is Thurman Thomas from the 90's Bills teams. Then you get in to the 3rd down back territory. The first guy I really remember that was 3rd down specialist was Lydell Mitchell that played on the Baltimore Colts teams. The Cowboys also had Preston Pearson who was that type of back. How about LT? I almost forgot that guy

Probably the best combo of speed and power

RIP Hammerin' Hank. Still the undisputed HR leader in my mind. Fuck off steroid Bonds.
My father was a sports nut and told me he only cried twice in his adult life over sports....when Roberto Clemente died and watching Hank Aaron's induction speech at Cooperstown in person with his dad in 82. He and his two brothers went on a pilgrimage to Cooperstown to see the induction. He was my Grandfather's favorite player.

In no particular order: Ryan Gooden Maddux Smoltz Schilling Johnson Rivera Morris Clemmons (I know, he juiced)

For the first time since 2013, baseball gets no new HOF members. Schilling was the closest at 71.xx%

The Baseball Hall of Fame has always been the stupidest ones. As many baseball players there are, how do you have years with no player inducted? They need to move past the baseball writers association picking them and use something else. Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless would be an improvement..lol

I was only listing 5. But Munson had his career cut and have Dickey a little further down is why they aren't it. Let me guess your list: Munson Berra Dickey Posada Howard

Lol Rooster I mentioned pitchers, how about a position that doesn't really get much pub. Catchers Anybody want to throw out a name or two I don't follow baseball, although I played some baseball SIM through several seasons about a decade back(Baseball Mogul I think it was), I couldn't tell you today what half of the stats mean. I probably know less about it than most Americans might know about Australian Rules Football. I'm not trolling here, please bear with me. Being I tend to be aware of Australians who seem to do well on the world Stage. Chicago White Sox, recently signed Liam Hendriks who is Australian for about $70M and while I'm not sure of the contract term, it sounds like pretty good money. Hendrik's is a pitcher, what's that got to do with the question I hear you asking. I would expect that just like the relationship with bowlers and wicketkeepers in cricket, the pitcher and catcher probably need to work well together but it's far more complicated than just receiving a pitch in baseball I would expect, anyway, to the answer. Hendrik's thinks the White Sox catcher is possibly the best defensive catcher in the league. I think that's what he said and while I have no idea if his opinion counts for much, in a long winded way, I give you A catcher name: Yasmani Grandal aka Yaz.

The LB category is stacked. I thought about the Steelers LB's, Ham and Lambert, and I think about the 86 Giants and their entire LB core is so good. It's hard to not mention Ray Lewis, but I didn't Nick Buoniconti is another one who comes to mind. The position has changed so much over the years from pure LBs to hybrids. There are some fantastic players that could go on the list. Greene was another great Ram/Steeler. Speaking of hybrids, at least that's what I'm going to call the massive William Perry, who I think kept moving between defensive and offensive teams through his career. Do you remember 1985 superbowl? He ran straight over or through the Patriots LBs to score a TD. I'm not sure of Perry's position, FB, HB or RB? It probably doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure he started life as a LB and 300+ pounds of raw intent when it's 1st Down and goal is pretty difficult to stop when it's moving like that. I don't know much about American Football, played a bit of 4th and inches and John Madden Football in 80s but it's way too complicated for me. Hard hitting I can appreciate. I enjoyed WWF back in the mid 80s and The Refrigerator, along with a few other 250+ pound Pro Football stars from various NFL teams and wrestlers got it on in a 20 man Battle Royale at Wrestlemania 2.
