I really want to pick this bad boy up when I turn 18, be a pretty nice display piece. The real ones are a hoot to shoot! But just ensure that the spring is suited to the bolt. If you mix-up the higher rate of fire bolt with the lower RoF spring, the things can fire out of battery. That is A Bad Thing.

Oh, fair enough then. Where'd you get that sort of thing from? Place called D and B Militaria, they specialize in deactivated firearms and other accessories to do with the militaries of the world, even were selling a 2.5m long Harrier rocket at one point

I wish I could shoot a live one in the UK, but alas I can't. That is a genuine shame. They are not exactly common here in the States, but there are a few places you can at least rent one just to have the experience. Funny thing is, our silly gun laws place the same "deterrence" tax (originally intended to make them too expensive for average citizens to own) on a suppressor/moderator as they do a MG42 or any machine gun.

I'd love to come to the US and go to a shooting range for at least a day. Well, as I don't own any full-auto firearms (throwing in a gratuitous F.U. to the Federal Government for their asinine laws) I can only extend an offer to take you to my local range and let you put some steel on target from my more mundane firearms if ever you find yourself in East Tennessee. That said, there are some local ranges that rent submachine guns that I would be more than happy to take you around to some of them. My favorites have been the classic Thompson, the MP5, and the Glock 18. The Wife preferred the M4A1 (technically not a subgun). Now if you ever want to make a true "pilgrimage" holiday out of it, schedule a trip over here to coincide with a Knob Creek Machinegun Shoot. I've even see a zwilling-mount MG42 (side-by-side twin mount) with both guns running the faster (~1200 rpm) RoF.

You call that an asinine law? I'm pretty sure there's some by-law in the UK that allows witch burnings or something stupid.

Any person who participates in a duel may not hold any public office in the state. - From My Home State of Tennessee..... Also, in Tennessee - "You can’t shoot any game other than whales from a moving automobile." Hmmm..... Wonder if the moron who wrote this had access to a map....

OK, this one is from the United Kingdom section:
"Excluding Sundays, it is perfectly legal to shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow."

I'm fairly certain that a lot of those laws aren't in force any more.

I'm fairly certain that a lot of those laws aren't in force any more. Most likely, but you would be surprised at how many still are: Strange British Laws" It is an offense to be intoxicated (drunk) and in charge of a cow in Scotland. The law is part of the (alcohol) Licensing Act of 1872 and actually also includes horses and steam engines. It allegedly carries a penalty fine of up to 1,200 GBP excluding the costs of looking after the cow, horse, etc." 6 wacky laws in Tennessee
From 2014^^

New "to me" Gun Day! My first J-Frame Smith & Wesson. It has a bit of recoil as it is an Airweight, but nothing too bad. It will see double duty as a carry piece and a teaching piece. Way too many people want to buy one of these as a first pistol as they are relatively inexpensive, very lightweight, and rather small. They don't realize the physics behind recoil and I'll use this as a demonstrator. Now, if only I can keep the Mrs. from appropriating this one...

Picked up 3 M&P 15 Sport II's a few weeks back for project rifles. I'll tinker with them and see what I can come up with.
They are also expendable, in the case that the upcoming election results in a Madam President. They could easily be worth 3x what I paid for them.

The Wife and I will be celebrating our 15th anniversary this Thursday. Unlike most women, the Mrs. prefers her "Jewelry" to be more on the tactical side. My thought is "Happy Wife = Happy Life", so she gets what she wants: Limited Edition CZ P-01 OD: And a TALO Edition Glock 43 for those more discreet days: Nice thing about the TALO edition is that it comes with a good set of night sights already installed:

How do you like that 43? I'm a full on Glock nerd and I've been eyeing those. Can your pinky fit on the grip or do you have to fold it underneath? It would be my eigth Glock if I buy one.
Anyhow I've been packing (legally with a permit) my Ruger LCR for eight years now and I just love the thing. It just disappears in my front pocket with a pocket sheath. Great little revolver.

Anyhow I've been packing (legally with a permit) my Ruger LCR for eight years now and I just love the thing. It just disappears in my front pocket with a pocket sheath. Great little revolver. I like the G43 enough that I bought the Wife the one above! I've had mine for over a year and have 2000+ rounds through it with no issues. Mine is the standard model (factory poly sights). With the "carry" mag (no extension) it is definitely a two-finger proposition for me. Even then, it is exceedingly controllable even with +P ammunition. Heck, the Wife prefers shooting the 43 more than her Springfield XD-S due to the reduced recoil impulse. You have to love that dual-spring set-up! I've been carrying mine in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster with no problem, but I am 6'4". Some people say that it is just a touch too big for their pockets, but I've had no issues. To me, it is easier to pocket-carry than my Smith 638. We are now up to 9 Glocks i nthe house thanks to my Anniversary preset from the Wife: I've been looking at a 10mm since I turned 21 (1991). Actually, I'd been wanting one since the early '80s when Cooper and Norma developed it, but I thought it was a dead issue when the Bren Ten died on the vine. The Wife has been paying attention over the years and did her research. She collaborated with our local gun store and even found a Gen 3 SF model, the most reliable of all the G20s. I'm ordering a couple of KKM barrels for it (10mm-.40 conversion, and a match 10mm with standard rifling) to increase the versatility and allow the safe use of the heavy, hard-cast Underwood 220 gr. loads. For those not in the know, the 10mm cartridge is one of the most powerful rounds available in an easily packable firearm and is very effective on the sort of aggressive creatures one can run into in the mountains of East Tennessee and North Carolina where I hike and fish. Oh, and this brings our household up to 9 Glocks.
