No question about it -
The Sig P320 (Full size) is the best handgun I've ever fired.

No question about it - The Sig P320 (Full size) is the best handgun I've ever fired. They are certainly good shooters. The X-Five version may eventually end-up in my collection. You do, however, owe it to yourself to give one of these a go. I picked this up back in March after getting to shoot the next level down (HK USP Expert) and deciding that I just had to have one of HK's best. This is the first center fire semi-auto that will easily keep-up with my match .22s and tuned Smith & Wesson revolver in pure accuracy.

As soon as the 21-rd mags become available, I'm switching to those. Nice! 21 rounds is a good amount of firepower. I think they could use you in Chicago. That city is out of control. The Chicago Tribune reports 101 people shot, 15 fatally, over the Independence Day holiday. In the 12-hour time frame between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, and 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at least 41 people were shot. On Friday night, 19 people were shot, while 23 were shot Saturday. 17 people were shooting victims Sunday through Monday. During last year's three-day Fourth of July weekend, 66 people were shot, four fatally. The total of those killed by gunfire over the 2016 holiday was the lowest in eight years. The last four-day Fourth of July weekend was in 2013, and 74 people were shot, 12 fatally. Ever been to Chicago? Unless you are in a gang, you will be fine. Something like 7% of the people are causing 80% of the crime. The majority of the shootings happen late at night and during the early morning hours. It's not like people are dodging bullets when they go to the store. Anyway, it's all fake news. Everything is fine here.

Thanks for the info that everything is fine there. You don't by chance work for the Chicago Tourism Bureau, do you?

St. Louis, Detroit, Cleveland, Baltimore, New Orleans, Memphis, Oakland, Kansas City, Newark, Atlanta, Cincinnati all had a higher homicide rate per-capita in the last five years. Chicago had the highest number of non-fatal shootings in 2015. Yet the per-capita rate was ONE SEVENTH of St. Louis. Anyway, just saying....

Did someone mention old boom stick? This isn't fired with a wick but looks very old. I think a great uncle of mine picked this up overseas during WW1. 12 gauge shell for size comparison of the business end. Looking at the barrel markings it must have been made by Heckler & Koch. Although I can't tell you the maker, I can tell you that's an old percussion pistol. Likely 1830-1840, somewhere in that range.

My EDC most of the year. Extreme summer EDC is a P224 (smaller sister to the P229).

My HD / Training rifle. The pic cuts off the muzzle break, which is the last addition I made to it. VG6 Epsilon. Great mix of recoil comp and flash hider.

Original or repro? Decent amount of both on the market, although with a supply of real PU scopes available, there's lots of fakes/repros made with real scopes and mounts.

About a year ago, had someone offer me just short of $1100 for it. Was tempted, as it would have been way more than double my investment, but it's a keeper. Would sell my non PU however (1919).

I'm no expert by any stretch, but I don't think H&K was even a company before the late 40's. Can an you send me those pics via pm? I know some people who would be very interested and might be able to help identify it.

Is it an Izhevsk or a Tula? Izhevsk is more common for that year, although both are desireable originals.

Both of my Mosins (standard, PU) are Izzys, but my 1954 SKS is a Tula arsenal product.
