I would love to see a dispersion nerf for arty. I get hit while on the move far more than sitting still. There should be almost no way for arty to peg me while I'm on the move. It gets very frustrating.

Personally, I dislike arty greatly. I mean, I dislike tanks with absurd alpha, but arty clearly takes the cake for simply ruining the game.

Arty isn't bad when you first start playing WoT. You're in the low tiers and all the tanks are zipping around like roaches with the lights on. This is when "arty kills campers" has truth to it, because people will literally try to sit in one spot the entire match.
Mid tiers is when it starts to get annoying. Matches aren't just dice rolls as often as they used to be, tanks have actual differences, people start to learn mechanics, etc. Arty gets smarter, too. Now you have to actually worry about these RNG catapults as you're trying to git gud. Platoons of them start taking their toll on tanker morale. Still, you may have a pig or two in your garage for the change of pace and to understand them better.
High tiers? Cancerous. They hit hard as hell, know all the good spots to pre-aim at, and even misses will often splash you for much HP/module/crew damage. When you're not outright killed, you're crippled. They can't shoot camping TDs and heavies if they can't see them, so guess who gets shot at? The little fish (AKA lights and mediums) trying to make use of their tanks. Arty platoons become ridiculously dangerous, as many tanks simply don't have the speed and/or agility to evade. On top of that, the sky pig role isn't very relaxing to play anymore, as your long reload and nasty dispersion make trying to save your potato allies an exercise in frustration.
It's the old 'introduce mongooses to control the snakes' solution. Really, arty is just a really bad game mechanic. Sitting back at base - or a least in complete safety - and launching high caliber shells over mountains via satellite view? Trying to break through a choke point or cross a field is already hard enough without having to worry about that.

I still remember I was running full speed in my fully upgraded conq on mountain pass going to the 1 line from North spawn, hugging the mountain wall furthest away from the middle and next thing I know Some donkey (M53/M55) Beard0911. I lost my cool about arty after that. How the hell did he 1 shot me while I was full speed ahead!!!!

Arty is so rediculous some of the shit it can do.
In my T92 I splashed an RU-251 for 1200 health. Yup thats a 1 hit kill without even hitting the tank, no fire or ammorack.
Arty should not be able to do that.

The one I remember most that showed how stupid RNG was to have on Arty. 250-300m distance between me and an M41, he's going full speed down a hill and turning towards me, I'm going full speed, so literally his entire reticule is covering the whole screen and I'm going almost 60, he fired. He hit for a one-shot. Like here sits one of the most inaccurate at Tier V, doing everything to make his tank as inaccurate as possible, and he hits directly. |
