6 weeks to go until baby arrives. Past month has been rough on the wife, lot of additional testing has been ordered to make sure her and my son will be safe. Starting next week she will have 2 fetal NSTs a week until the baby is born, at least 1 more ultrasound, an echocardiogram, think more bloodwork and a test for blood clots as well.
I know things will be fine, she has good doctors and a great hospital but even with the rational part of me knowing things will be good. Just can't help feel like a ball of nerves.
Sorry guys just venting a little, wife does not need to see me a mess. She never comes here for some reason lol.

And after the birth, don't be afraid to go talk to someone, your wellbeing is important and people are realizing that now. And be prepared for people to give you lots of unasked for "advice" 😀 And the bonus of now being able to use parents parking at supermarkets 😁

Unasked for advice inbound lol No worries at all mate. It's perfectly understandable that you're nervous, as you said though everything should be fine. That won't stop you from worrying and it's natural that you are, if you weren't nervous it would be a bit odd. I was on edge everytime even without Violet needing extra tests etc done. Do your bit supporting your wife as you obviously are doing, and if either of you get very nervous then just talking to each other about it can be good. I'm the more quiet, don't let things bother me type but Violet seems to love it on the occassions when i open up a little bit and talk about stuff with her, especially if it's things that are on both of our minds. Being a rock for your wife during times like this can be important, but it can also be important to talk about things, because if she is worried about it too (and if you are, odds on she is as well) i think it can be comforting to know she isn't alone in that feeling. With that said, don't freak her out or panic her. Got to get the balance right. Make sure you take bottles of mineral water with you to the hospital, if she pours it down there when having a wee afterwards it eases the stinging quite a bit. I hope they let you stay with her after your son is born over there. Our eldest was born at just past midnight and as soon as Violet got back to the ward the hospital kicked me out as it was past visiting hours. Arseholes. That was 1 of the worst feelings i've ever had tbh, my son had just been born, Violet was exhausted, and i was forced to walk away. I'll get Violet to read this after just incase i'm talking shit lol. I could be talking rubbish, i won't pretend that i know how the other half think.

Thanks guys.
We have talked about it, she knows I have my concerns but I'm not trying to let to consume me. I know she's more worried( understandably). I think the fact it's 2 test a week for the next 5-6 is what's got her nervous, that really throws everything out of whack and if it's a failed test its straight to an emergency C-section. So no stress there lol. Both me and my wife having worked in health care is both a good and bad thing.
Sucks they kicked you out Rest, after our first son was born ( 9 years ago) I was able to stay all night( 26 hour labor). The maternity rooms even have a couch that turns into a bed for the father/other immediate family to stay overnight if they want. Same thing this time around. Can't imagine why they would not let you stay. That's BS.

They'll talk you both through every step as they go. Watch out for the anaesthetists they have a truly warped sense of humour. After the C Section your wife will be in large amounts of pain and fairly immobile. My wife said it felt like someone was doing the washing up in the wound. She will need support and reassurance for months after the op. And for the love of your chosen deity DO NOT believe you have to be strong as man is strong. A C Section is traumatic for you, your wife and your offspring. Bloody well talk to someone. The Hospital Chaplaincy is a good place to start.

Can't imagine why they would not let you stay. That's BS. for our second we had to have ultrasounds every week near the end, and bloods. Last scan indicated the baby was not growing adequately so it was c section time. It was wonderful! The staff were all great, we were not rushed because it was not a mid-labor emergency c section ( our first girl decided to go bungee jumping with the umbilical cord around her leg... That was an awful experience for my wife and I, full on alarms, and rushing into theatre. Considering i live in theatre, being in someone else's and not being allowed to do something was hard for me). Csection with notice are great. There is also a talking notes service, where you can get a nurse or dr to come out and go over it all with you afterwards, show you the notes, and explain why X was happening etc. That was useful with our first.

Ruthless....it's normal to be nervous. I don't worry about much at all, but I was nervous each time my wife gave birth to one of our three boys. I think R35T gave good advice (even though Violet could call bullshit on both of us). Be there for her and I'm certain she'll appreciate it and feel a bit more at ease.

Our first she was in labor for 26 hours, so they decided to do a c-section, told me to put the gown on a get ready to head back. Few minutes later they told me to never mind because they had to do an emergency c-section. Sitting there for over 2 hours not knowing and not doing anything drove me nuts. Pissed me off they would not tell me anything. Hope to avoid that experience again. Just wait and see as each week ticks away, doesn't help I'm not a patient person when it comes to family health issues.

Long day, having issue with baby not cooperating with testing.
Now instead at doc office for testing we got to go to the hospital, which only does the test at weird hours.
I need to blow up some digital ships or something lol.

Sorry, been a long couple days After a rough C-Section he was born, the vacuum they were using to try and pull him out disconnected 16 times, it took 4 people to get him out. Half his head is a bruise . There is some concern with fluid on his brain but all test so far show no excess fluid. If everything goes well we can all go home tommorow.
