The carrying of knives in public has been banned since 1953, don't act like this is some sort of wild new development. The stricter knife control is though correct? Also, 1953? Why is knife crime suddenly a problem if they've been banned to carry in public since 1953, what suddenly changed? Prevention of Crime Act 1953: " Any person who without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, the proof whereof shall lie on him, has with him in any public place any offensive weapon shall be guilty of an offence, and shall be liable—
(a) on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding [six months] or a fine not exceeding [£200], or both;
(b) on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding [four] years or a fine not exceeding one hundred pounds, or both." Also the ban on sale of switchblades and the like came in 1959 with the Restriction of Offensive Weapons Act 1959: "(1) Any person who manufactures, sells or hires or offers for sale or hire, [or exposes or has in his possession for the purpose of sale or hire] or lends or gives to any other person—
(a) any knife which has a blade which opens automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife, sometimes known as a “flick knife” or “flick gun”; or
(b) any knife which has a blade which is released from the handle or sheath thereof by the force of gravity or the application of centrifugal force and which, when released, is locked in place by means of a button, spring, lever, or other device, sometimes known as a “gravity knife”,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction in the case of a first offence to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or to a fine not exceeding [fifty pounds][level 4 on the standard scale] or to both such imprisonment and fine, and in the case of a second or subsequent offence to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding [two hundred pounds][level 4 on the standard scale]or to both such imprisonment and fine.
(2)The importation of any such knife as is described in the foregoing subsection is hereby prohibited." Legislating on weapons isn't a new thing, it's literally been happening constantly for centuries. Knife crime has "suddenly" become a problem because London's murder rate jumped up over the course of a few weeks, it's a big news story and people want to look like they're doing something.

How will you cut your steak? Not like you can just gnaw at it like uncouth cavemen with those fragile yellow toofs.

It should be shocking that major networks haven't picked up the story...... Remember - That's over 2 million times firearms were used to save lives. ~2,000,000 < 35,000 to Liberals and the media tho.

Ha, Amber Rudd's gone. Farewell to our shit and useless servant. All she did was up the quota for removal of illegal immigrants without telling anybody. I'm all for it. Saves the taxpayer upto £100000 per head per annum to keep them here until they are repatriated.

She also misled Parliament and was responsible for the attempted deportation of several people who were invited to live in the UK, have done so for more than fifty years and have had indefinite leave to remain since the 70s.

Not entirely true. The Windrush Paperwork was effectively "misplaced" in the mid 90s by the Labour Govt (this is the bit that everyone appears to be ignoring). That has led quite wrongly in all opinions to the Windrush Generation being declared illegal immigrants. Also its being used very well by Labour at the moment to cover another Corbyn fuck up when he said he'll make everyone debt free if they regain power. How you ask? By borrowing more!! Thats how we got to this point of austerity in the first place.

The Labour Party throwing about some flashy policies to keep their popularity up, or Her Majesty's Government attempting to deport people it had granted indefinite leave to remain, cutting them off from healthcare and leaving them unemployed, and then lying to the Home Affairs Select Committee about it.

They actually reduced the tax from $500 per head to $275. And Google has stopped construction on the downtown over this tax. Leave it to Seattle's moonbats to continue to drive business away....
