My first comment was in response to your suggestion about licensing gun owners as a requirement to own a firearm. Crossing a road outside of a crosswalk is illegal because it's a roadway meant for vehicles, not pedestrians. That's what crosswalks are for. As I said its not perfect. Maybe drop the licence but require everyone to have a standard level of training before they take one home. Even if thats just a basic maintenance and cleaning standard and some basic gun handling drills. You are still REQUIRING someone to show proficiency for exercising a right before they can exercise it. It's strongly suggested that people take training classes, which the NRA happens to provide.

Which Amendment in the first 10 is the 'right to live life free from Government control'?

Which Amendment in the first 10 is the 'right to live life free from Government control'? You mean outside of your basic human rights?? Why should something as basic as not having your life controlled be codified by 227 year old document?

I'm entirely against any "right" granted to me/enshrined by our Constitution having some sort of requirement that needs to be met before receiving that "right". It wouldn't really be a "right" then, it would be a "permission".
That said, while I don't need any training to purchase and own a firearm, I do need a permit/certificate of training in my state of Minnesota to be allowed to lawfully carry a handgun. The license/permit is good for 5 years and then I need to attend/complete the course again.

Im guessing that not all states require that?

Im guessing that not all states require that? Certain states have Constitutional carry, no permit required at all. More states have been going to that over recent years (although most of them do still offer an actual permit if you want one just because). I know Arizona and Alaska are two states that don't require a permit, I know there's more than that but I can't remember the others off the top of my head.

Indiana has a Constitutional Carry bill in the Legislature, but I can’t remember it’s status.

Vermont, the land of Ben&Jerry's and hippies in the valley is in a fact a Constitutional Carry State and has never had permits or registration of any kind in it's 220+ year existence.

London bans weapons of war. link Lethal "zombie knives" are being shipped directly peoples homes. That sounds like a loop hole that lets anybody buy a knife with no restrictions. They should only be able to be purchased through a dealer after passing a thorough back ground and mental health check. A law needs passed to ban them so no one else gets hurt. There should be a city wide knife registration for all legal owners. Signs should be put up declaring public spaces a "knife free zone" to keep the thugs out. The BCSA (British Cutlery and Silverware Association) is obviously at fault for anyone that has been stabbed.

I always carry a pocket knife on me, there are literally hundreds of daily uses for a knife that more than warrants carrying one on your person at almost all times. It's amazing, it's like they just plan to ban everything. "Mobile phones are now illegal to carry on your person. There is no reason someone should be carrying a mobile phone on their person, too many people are already being bludgeoned with them already."

The carrying of knives in public has been banned since 1953, this is hardly some sort of wild new development.

Why is knife crime suddenly a problem if they've been banned to carry in public since 1953, what suddenly changed?
