I wouldn’t even lay singular blame on him. In fact, IMO I think it’s more of a reflection on the erosion of our social fabric as it relates to the family unit, the social push to normalize behaviors that were once taboo, our desire to modify/alter outcomes at the expense of social mores, regulations and laws. Sounds like you'd get on well with Peter Hitchens. TBH...I had to look him up. I’d say I agree with this, maybe not exactly, but with the temper and intent- “The left's real interests are moral, cultural, sexual and social. They lead to a powerful state. This is not because they actively set out to achieve one," Hitchens writes.[67] "It is because the left's ideas – by their nature – undermine conscience, self-restraint, deferred gratification, lifelong marriage and strong, indivisible families headed by authoritative fathers."

The more socially liberal a society becomes, the worse said society becomes. A pure democracy is at best a temporary form of government, as it cannot survive the overwhelming burden it places on itself by the population voting itself an increasing amount of unsustainable benefits. The finacial weight of supporting non producers simply becomes too great for the government and producers to support. Social liberals believe the goverment and producers owe them for the simple matter of exsisting. This is the the direction the United States is currently heading, but has been slowed a bit by the fact we are not a pure democracy but a representative republic.

They exist, least that's what my Grandfather tells me after he talks to relatives that still live there. Germany is not the only country with the issue as well.

I know; however, the media and politicians would like people to think otherwise. My colleague and friend of 17 years is married to a Swedish woman and his sister-in-law and her family left Malmo due to growing issues and moved back to the North East.

I'm not sure if this was already covered in any topic, and I am interested in knowing what y'all think, so...
What do people, outside of the US, think the process is for buying a firearm?/suppressor/machine gun in the US? Let's use Texas as the example, since I live here and have a couple dozen experiences to pull from. Granted the laws are vastly different, in say California, but let's go with TX for now.
Preferably without Googling.

He said that so any ban of 'gas assisted receiver' firearms will include literally any firearm that utilizes the expanding gas from a round leaving the barrel to chamber another round. Depending on the wording, it could include blowback operated firearms as well I.E. - Virtually all firearms.

Save for single/double action revolvers, bolt action rifles and pump and break action shotguns.....FFS

How do people think the federal government made money before they legalized income theft?

The massive increase on foreign steel was a good idea. China has been waging a brutal economic war with America. Look at the honey industry too. America had to do something similar because china was dumping its entire honey production onto American markets at a loss.

To be fair when the US need decent steel they look to Canada, the UK or Germany. Purveyors of the finest steel for a long while.

These tariffs actually have more to do with National and Economic security and nothing to do with quality. The systematic use of unfair trade practices is eroding our innovation and manufacturing industrial base and poses a risk to our national security. These tariffs ensure we maintain our core steel producing capabilities. Think military ship building, sub building or aircraft...once the infrastructure and capability is gone it's incredibly difficult to start up again.
All steel producing countries are capable of producing high quality steel and poor quality as well...there are over 3,000 grades of steel.

It's the weakness of capitalism and profiteering. The temptation to buy cheaper from abroad is always going to be strong, even if it screws over domestic industry in the long term. It's why our domestic coal and steel industry flailed in the UK. For best part of 100 years we even propped up our coal industry to keep it going, and it bled us dry. The lure of cheap foreign coal and steel won.

I should maybe have said high grade steel instead. The British and German High Grade steels are from Centuries of production and process including lots of periods of war. The Canadians as a by product of Empire have access to all that gained metallurgy. Although bizarrely the Indians dont appear to have followed suit. I never understand why the Canzacs made sure they left Empire with everything bar the Kitchen Sink but other nations as soon as they shut the front door went back to making each others lives a misery then 50 years later realised what they could have had.

India has always been a mess politically, not helped by it's caste system.

And Canada/Australia. Were both cut and paste cultures. India had its own already in place.
