I'm not sure I actually hit anything then, but this reminded me of Priestess yelling protection! Also made me laugh with this person's emote.

I went to Trostland and there were other players there that were much higher levels. I tried to help them when I saw them fighting several enemies. But I noticed they kept getting chests dropped and I got some crystals dropped too. Is it bad form for me to also collect loot? I figured it was ok since I saw them go collect it and then it also let me. I just don't want to make players mad at me. It's always just collect loot really. Do events collect loot, kill a HVT, collect loot, in the middle of genociding the entire Fallen and see a dusklight shard, better pick that up. It isn't shared in any way and pretty much just means that say you complete a public event and open the chest with a bunch others, you all just roll the same dice. Four of you might just get blues, the other may get a legendary which is probably useless to him anyway. And when it comes to that sort of thing, players wont really give a toss, in patrols and whatnot people just keep to themselves really and most interaction will be shooting the same enemy in an event you are both in, or emoting to each other. Players may get somewhat mad if you don't trigger the Heroic Event since even though I think these days they barely even change the drop in any useful way but it's just something people are so used to doing. But that's mostly if they're like Lvl 50, 600 LL so they clearly should have experience. And you can see how to activate all the Y1 Events into Heroic on the first page, never got around to doing it for the Y2 ones I think.

I finally figured out how to use the shaders, but I have two ships and not sure how to use them yet. I looked that up and found a couple of different things. I might not be at the right level yet. It says to go to the tower and I'm not seeing that unless 'the farm' replaced it. I was wrong on the gambit thing. For the milestone I saw, it looked like I needed 10 matches for it and only had one when I looked at it last. I also figured out about banking motes today so hopefully I won't be losing so many.

@ladytanker So. The two things right at the start including the 'Shock and Denial' currently shown, as well as the one right before the skull icon that is currently tracked which we'll get into in a moment. Those are Crucible Pinnacle Weapon Quests, my advice, don't do them. The Shock and Denial one is for the Luna's Howl, a Hand Cannon that requires significant amount of grinding in Competitive, practically requiring you to four-stack with people for like a week or longer. All for a gun that is only useful in Crucible and otherwise garbage. Similarly for the orange one, this is for the Redrix's Broadsword, a Pulse Rifle. Like the Luna's it is damn near useless in PvE given the archetype of the gun offsetting the otherwise potentially useful perk. It doesn't require Competitive play I believe entirely but it requires you to reset your Valor Rank 5 times, in a single season, so you'd rarely have time for any other activity and to make it bearable/go faster would again, need to four-stack or more in Quickplay instead. The furthest one is The Mountaintop, a Grenade Launcher. Which similar to the Luna's is completely useless outside of Crucible, I think it actually ends up being the less grindy one if you can reliably get kills with Grenade Launchers but yeah, I still wouldn't recommend. As far as I'm aware, they have no time limit to them. The one right after is the Refer-a-Friend one of course. I don't know what the two after that are but I am assuming they are 'Complete a Vanguard Strike/Win a Crucible Match while wearing the full Season 4 Vanguard/Crucible Armour set'. No time limit on that one either, just freebie powerful drops. The two after that are just a Vanguard quest thing to get a weapon from Y1 with Y2 Rolls which is just to complete 30 Daily Vanguard Bounties in any amount of time, nothing more to it just do as many a day as you can then do it the next day and rinse/repeat, with most Vanguard Bounties requiring you to do this or that in Strikes but some being just 'Do a few Public Events anywhere'. Right after that is the Vanguard Pinnacle Weapon, a Fusion Rifle that has some use but is still eh cause it's a Fusion Rifle and they are mostly awful. It just requires you to kill 500 Enemies in Strikes with Fusion Rifles, 1,000 in Strikes with any kind of Arc damage and complete 40 Strikes/Nightfalls in total. There's also a Gambit Pinnacle Weapon you can now grab with the tower unlocked and it's actually the best one for PvE but eh, it's still a slog to grind so something you should slowly work towards not really put all the effort in a week to specifically grind for that stuff before progressing something more enjoyable. With all that out the way, the red one with a skull is a Weekly Clan Raid Bounty, it means that if you do a Raid(In this case Last Wish) and have it on you then fulfilling the requirements for the challenge will get you the bounty for another powerful drop. With this week being the Vault Encounter of it. Honestly I'm surprised it lets you pick it up when you're not in a clan. But don't fuss too much about it, it's just to help you level up but there's plenty of means to do that anyway throughout every week and I'm not expecting you to be able to be well, useful to put it bluntly in a Raid any time soon, even Eater of Worlds as the easiest one. Except for a Scrapper Bounty I can see in there and I think Eververse, the rest are just Daily Bounties. The Vex Arm one is from Asher on Io, all the blue ones are Vanguard and the Green ones are from Devrim in the EDZ. Scrapper Bounties are random chance to get any time you dismantle a weapon or piece of armour and is like a three day thing, completely random they can be 'Take two zones in Crucible' to 'Do this specific Lost Sector on Titan' and so on. They are good sources for Legendary Shards/Masterwork Cores for now so I'd put some effort into doing them as long as they aren't Crucible. The Eververse one is useless, it just gives you a pathetic amount of Bright Dust, honestly the only one you should get from that is the weekly one that gives you a Prismatic Facet. You'll get more from stuff like if you join a clan, when you get to the Tangled Shore, Exotic Quests either from Y1 base game or DLC or the few from Y2, Dreaming City, yada yada so my advice is to get rid of the Crucible Pinnacle ones, not to pick up the Raid Bounties and to pick up dailies you'll do not so much just fill out on a ton of them given you can only hold 50 at a time. Bear in mind when dismantling the quests they'll just go back to the vendor associated to them so you can pick them back up again if you want.

And I appreciate you taking the time to help and explain all this. Could always link you footage of something like how to kill Argos (The Eater of Worlds Boss) and yeah, see what you get from that. It depends somewhat on the encounters as to the mechanics tied behind them and what role people take/get given but yeah a general rule of thumb is that you have X amount of time to do it. Take too long to maybe punch a specific enemy, it means three of the team get killed, punch the wrong one and the same result. Do multiple phases on Argos as you don't have the DPS, oh well now you can no longer stun him and his enrage is near. Didn't get on your platform fast enough, or got on one with someone else, yup it's just dropped all the platforms and reset the whole jumping 'puzzle'. That sort of thing. Coupled with limited revives. You'd get only 5 chances to get to grips with a specific jump before you can't be revived, and can't spend a couple minutes judging the distance coupled with your airspeed velocity and whether the unladen swallow is african or european.

Not wanting to take off topic but My wife Cannot get enough of the "holy Grail" and I think I've watched it too much so don't really enjoy it anymore. I now have brave brave sir robin beating around in my head along with run away, run away, the clippety clop of coconut shells and the phrase " I fart in your general direction" said in a French/English accent.

How do you find out more about a specific clan? I got an invite from one and wanted to know more about them first. They're named IRONxLORD GUARDIANS.

How do you find out more about a specific clan? I got an invite from one and wanted to know more about them first. They're named IRONxLORD GUARDIANS. I personally don't know 100% with D2, I've shelved my copy for the time being after getting to level 3 due to being fed up with spending more time disconnecting with ridiculous error messages for no obvious reason and waiting while reconnecting than actually playing. But and I hope i'm not overstepping here, I've played a few MMOs on PC and speaking generally in relation to Guild/Clan/Enclave and invites to such in other MMO games and I know it's not specifically relevant to your situation but some of the following might be helpful. I'd check Google or any Clan web registers, some groups have Facebook pages. I'm not sure if Bungie provides Clan recruitment postings or applications for membership in their forums but you might find some stuff out there. If there is a real time messaging system. I'd interrogate whomever it was that invited you in similar fashion to what you might when investigating job suitability prior and during a Job interview. I'm certain they have in game mail which could work or I suppose XBOX messaging might work too. You could maybe start by asking what it was about you, which encouraged them to reach out. Might just be a numbers and membership drive which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I'd try and understand their culture, what they expect from members, what they can offer you to enhance your game experience, what their goals and gameplay times might be, how do they interact and communicate etc and see if those things align with what you seek. You might ask if you can speak with other members for a reference too. Another thing to consider might be an exit plan and consequence of leaving after joining and finding it doesn't work for you. That's possibly more of a Game mechanic thing.

Mainly, I don't know anyone in the group so I don't know if I'd even like any of them. I probably would, but I don't think I would really want to join a clan without knowing anyone at all. I also wouldn't want to join one if they're worse than me. Lol.
Test, I am wondering if you are trying to play whenever they are doing their reset?

The only way to find anything about a clan outside of asking them about it is from Bungie.Net and even then it's not really helpful. It tells you shit like what they put in the bio which could be informative or just some meme, the status of it (Whether it's like Invite-Only or something), the Rank of it and the Members.
It'd be wise to join a clan as that means you can gain an extra Powerful Drop per week from getting the Weekly Clan XP amount per week (5k for each character). And depending on how active it is you can get an extra 4 that drop at your current LL, so possibly still powerfuls basically. But then it'd be wise to join one of the more open, community focused clans that welcomes new players and has plenty that are well experienced to that sort of thing rather than say the clan I'm in which used to even have some K/D limit thing we snuck around and then it reached the point where they had to get rid of that just to try to keep it alive. Barely any of the members really interact with each other and those that do have their own little groups they interact with within it.

Here's another idea. I saw this last night. Could drop power on a character to below 600 and see if drops come easier.

D2 has broken my heart today. I started Forsaken. It started out being the most interesting one so far plus funny. Then they had to go kill off my favorite character. Merry Christmas to me. 🤧

Got any tips for beating the dudes on the Tangled Shore? I've beat the Trickster. I had to skip the Mad Bomber for now. The nasty spiders are what keep kicking my butt on that. I went on to the Hangman. I think I was close to beating it. I used two supers and a sword on that one, but another smaller boss came out and I didn't get away in time. I'm getting frustrated having to repeat them. I'm wondering if I need to pick different armor, weapon or change my super to a different one for these?

I'm getting frustrated having to repeat them. I'm wondering if I need to pick different armor, weapon or change my super to a different one for these? Per every Mine you have to sit in and wait a while for it to be defused during the Mad Bomber, there will be three positions that adds can spawn, primarily Skreebs but what, Ravagers I think they are, the guys whose crit spots are the fire lanterns are on at least one of the Mines. They will always be on your left, middle and right. It will always cycle through them not specifically in that order but in an order regardless, the game will never spawn a group on your right and then spawn the next group also on the right. So kill the first group wherever they spawn, since they are Skreeb or the lantern guys, killing them will either blow them up or damage them, in the case of the lantern guys you need to actually crit kill them for them to blow up. Then switch to looking at one of the other spawns, see which one has the Scorn spawning effect, kill that group, switch to the next and rinse/repeat until every time you can damage Hiraks (The Bomber) and then repeat on the next Mine. After I think the third Mine, it's just purely damaging him from then on. As far as Weapons go, I don't know about your Kinetic/Energy but generally it doesn't entirely matter on them however the most preferable loadout is usually Hand Cannon for Kinetic, and Shotgun for Energy, or the other way around. Hand Cannons are basically the best Primary Ammo weapons you can use, with them often being able to kill most adds in one crit shot, stagger them otherwise and do most of their HP or in terms of Yellow/Orange Bars, shave off plenty of HP per shot on a crit. For Heavy, a Sword isn't that bad actually, considering what your current options are, with most encounters being too close to be using a Rocket Launcher, Grenade Launchers are absolute arse. So for the short bursts of DPS you usually get before the boss goes immune again the Sword is actually probably your best option right now. Just get in, smack Heavy Attack a bunch until either your HP gets low or they start being immune again then rinse repeat. Supers, Titans have it well off in a way, my advice wouldn't be to really use the Super much for pure boss damage but rather to clear with adds when they spawn groups of them, or simply to survive because the majority of Supers and well, all the Titan ones in your case give a damage reduction while active. In my opinion, Sunbreaker is the best Titan Super for well just about everything. I don't recall if it is the Top or Bottom Tree but whichever one has the Perk 'Hammers Split into more explosions' or along those lines, not the one that gives you Sunspots and that, that one is arse never use it. Damage the boss with your Sword, use your Kinetic or Energy to clear adds and then near the end when it spawns a bunch of orange bars, use your Super to clear them out. Oh and don't worry about armour, they are pretty much pointless and aside from Exotics which you likely don't have, there really is no difference to using one set of armour over another right now if they are both the exact same LL. Destiny is a very mobile game, and fights are usually designed with that in mind. Run around a lot, unless you are using your Sword/Punching a weak enemy in the face backpedal a lot and keep distance between you and them. For the Hangman fight particularly the majority of the enemies in it are melee based. And switch to Strafe Lift if you haven't already. You can just float about the whole place and melee enemies will have a hard time getting in range, while ranged enemies will struggle to hit you. If your HP gets in the red feel free to break off and just start running around a bunch until it regens.

I tried doing the highest level nightfall strike earlier. I noticed two other people there, but it was like they weren't participating with me. Is that a solo event or do I need to bring my own team? I kept going round and round trying to get to the first objective. I finally found it, but the other two people there were doing a rally the flag public event. I've never done a strike before where I noticed there was any public around except for the people being put into it. Is this normally what happens?
