Wanted to put these here so they are easy to find for everyone playing Destiny 2
How to make Public Events turn Heroic -
Ether Servitor -
During the fight in the regular event, you will face 5 Servitors in total, the first one spawns in at around 75-80% HP on the Ether Servitor and gives him a shield that makes him immune to damage. This one never despawns or at least takes as long as it takes for the French to make a genuine charge at the enemy as I've never seen it happen.
At around 60-65% HP, three more Servitors are spawned in typically underneath the large one in the middle. These three do not give him a shield buff and if you take too long trying to kill them they will despawn.
If you fail to do so, you will lose the chance to make the event Heroic and at around 40% HP a fifth Servitor will spawn, which is the exact same as the first one.
In the event you succeed at killing all three of them and it turns Heroic, then the biggest difference is that the Ether Servitor will now take significantly less damage from every shot that hits him even in the weakspot (Something like 56-57 damage in regular mode and 11-12 in Heroic).
It's not that difficult and I have managed it solo before thanks to Supers but it's one of the more time consuming ones due to the sheer amount of HP he has and the fact your damage is lowered.
Fallen Glimmer Extraction -
Most of this shit is fine as is.
You follow 3 Fallen ships to mining sites and take out three generators in each of them, they'll typically spawn if you kill one Fallen Extractor and while they tank a lot it's really easy to kill one, then focus attention on the generator because you'll never run out of time as it resets each time you move to the next one.
Upon destroying the third, the Glimmer Extractor will blow up and you will now have to sit in the circle where it once was to transmat the glimmer, this is mostly just sit and shoot at what comes as it will largely be Wretches that you can easily melee kill with the odd Vandal.
Shortly into it however a 'Wretch Captain' or whateverhisfuckingname is will spawn in, a real big fucker who tanks a lot. Your biggest issue with this is his sheer HP pool and that he will rush towards the Glimmer pile, in which case he'll melee stomp a lot should you continue trying to be in the circle. With other players you will almost always kill him before that happens thankfully.
Should you ever 'run' out of time then you simply need to stay transmatting it, I had one incident where I had to solo the captain with no Heavy ammo or Super to spare and this absolute cunt just sat and watched the whole time because he couldn't be arsed helping and when another arrived and helped take out the bastard, we sat there for a good minute after the timer had counted down to zero but because neither left the circle it continued and got rewards from it.
This is typically one of the easiest to do.
Useless cunt attempted to get in on it at the last minute but failed miserably much to my amusement.
Cabal Extraction -
I'm not sure why the moron thinks this is one of the hardest as it's perhaps my most completed one and I think I've only ever done it once non-heroic.
Once the Mining Drill starts, immediately missile barrage warnings will be on the ground all around it, you can just rush out of the area or watch and see which missiles come down first and avoid them that way, whichever works for you.
After the first one, it's very easy to simply kill Cabal while staying in the circle and still not being hit by any missiles as being in the circle of them will actually damage you slightly.
Once the timer thing for the drill hits around 35, the Cabal 'Thresher' will have spawned and be flying around, some locations it's harder to spot than others but you can easily shoot at it as it makes it's way down to a position where it will stop in place for a good 5 or so seconds.
Basically just shoot at it with your regular or Energy Weapon while it makes it's way down and once it stops then spam rockets at it, everyone else will.
Upon the Thresher being destroyed then the Drill timer will stop and you'll simply have to kill an Excavation Valus, who's a Cabal Collosus with fancy looks and large amounts of HP, though he still goes down real easy.
Evidence.
Cabal Injection Rig -
This one is wrong in all kinds of ways.
The Cabal drop a massive giant drill, to start the Heroic Event you need to destroy THREE, not seven vents on it.
If you approach it from a distance you can actually get a free shot at one of the vents I've found right before it closes, I've never tried to abuse this before so I don't know if that is effective.
To just do the regular event you need only kill the three Psions as they drop in the waves.
Outside of the small chance right at the start, the only way to get a vent to open is by killing one of the Infiltrator Psions. Upon doing this then the shield around the whole thing will stop heat from escaping and you will be told to Evacuate it as it does considerable damage. Instead what you want to do is focus down the current open Vent. My advice for this is a rocket launcher as for me it works to shoot once, immediately dodge to reload the rockets and fire again then get some more shots in to actually destroy, typically dying in the process to revive and repeat once.
The first Vents to open will be the top ones, then after you have destroyed them the middle ones will open the next Psion death and the bottom ones typically after the last Psion death. You can manage it as two on the first death and have it done by the second but that relies on team mates knowing how to do it and this seems to be the second hardest for randoms to understand.
Upon destroying all of the Vents, it will go Heroic, all this changes is that when the Infiltrator Valus is spawned, it also spawns in two Interceptors. But these go down easy.
The Valus for this one is a Centurion and will move around the area a lot more than the Excavator Valus. Once he's down I recommend looking up to get the amusing show of watching the drill blow up.
Truth be told I really fucking hate doing this Event and avoid it as much as possible.
Fallen Arsenal -
If anyone played the original, like the Glimmer Extraction the regular version is basically the same.
Once the event starts, it drops a couple of Dregs/Vandals and a Captain, shortly after them a Walker will drop to defend the 3 'Scorch Cannon' arsenals that are around the place.
Upon destroying one of the Walkers legs and causing it to fall over and expose the weakspot, it will also drop 3 Arc Charges. It takes two of these to open each Scorch Cannon thingimabob so it takes six in total. Once all of them are opened then it will turn Heroic and a second Arsenal Walker will drop to help out the other.
This is one of the easiest and fastest ones to do, almost everyone doing it will also know how to make it Heroic as it's very hard not to realise that.
A good recommendation though that a lot don't know is that if you fire the Scorch Cannon and hold it, it will begin to charge up, let this go until it changes in size on the explosive currently attached to preferably one of the Walkers a second time and then feel free to detonate. Doing this increases the damage and blast radius of it.
Vex Spire Interruption-
This is yet another copy/pasta from the original game.
A spire will form in the middle, you must do everything in your power to stop Vex from reaching it and you have 10 Chances at it, there's really no loss as far as I'm aware for letting some get into it but I'd still not recommend letting it happen.
Shortly into it you can notice three circles spawn in, typically it's one at a time but I'm certain you can see their locations even at the start, there's a small trail going out of the Spire towards all three of their locations anyway should you not know their spawns. They will never change the spawns.
You need to stay in the circles to 'activate' them which takes quite a while and if multiple people are in on it then I'd recommend rushing to a different one rather than all being in the same one as it doesn't seem to make it go faster.
If you fail to 'activate' all three of them before the timer hits 1 Minute then they will despawn and you can no longer make the current event Heroic.
Should you succeed and turn it Heroic then a considerably large Vex Hydra will spawn in that dies as easy as the final boss on the first game.
Vex Goblins and Minotaurs from now on will typically be Quantum variants in that they have Orange HP but nothing otherwise really changes and they are still easy as fuck. Your biggest worry is the Hobgoblins as they will actually sprint towards the spire, where the rest will slowly meander their way towards you at a snails pace.
I hate this one quite a lot because it's one that is incredibly tedious and time consuming.
Hive Witches-
This one he got quite well done, it's mostly correct. But naturally I'll add more info of the whole event.
Once started, you will rush into the room and see two plates on either sides, they'll have a Knight either moving on them if you rushed in early or they'll already be standing on them. Stand on the plates to get rid of the otherwise invulnerable shield on the Wizard on your respective side of the portal then take them out.
Once both Wizards are down it will go to a phase just before the 'Boss' is spawned. While that is happening you want to continue standing on your plate and look to the top corners of the Portal where you will now see Crystals shielded by the same shit as the Wizards earlier. These shields will also go down by standing on the plates and then shoot the Crystals till they explode.
Should you not manage this before the Abyss Wizard is spawned in then you will lose the chance at the Heroic and have to deal with the regular fight. Should you manage to destroy both of them then it will instead spawn a Giant Knight instead.
In both cases, aside from the 'Boss' enemy, it will almost exclusively spawn Thrall/Cursed Thrall. I think the Wizard gets Orange HP Acolytes and the Knight doesn't but truth be told so much explosions happen in the room that I've never been able to actually notice if they are there or not.
You can notice that the Abyss Wizard is visually identical to Omnigul from the original and the Knight is visually identical to Alak-Hul. When he gets to low HP he'll lose his 'helmet' and rush at you just like he did in the original Strike.
Taken Blight-
Once the vent is started, a huge Taken Blight will spawn in and smaller ones around it.
Killing enemies will 'sting' it and killing enough causes it to dissipate and move to the next one, do this three times and the regular event is over.
Every time you step in to one of the smaller ones you get a status effect 'Taken Blight', upon leaving the area of the smaller ones you will get 'Blight Receding' pop up instead for 4 Seconds. As long as you have that effect you can turn your attention to the large Blight and damage it, constantly popping in/out to keep the effect almost always active until it goes to the next wave because the Randoms nearby don't know how to activate the Heroic and killed all the enemies.
My advice with this one, should you be the only one damaging the large Blight, do not attempt to do this Heroic, it takes far too much ammo to do the damage necessary, I've hit it with my Super twice, 15 Rockets and still had to expend almost all ammunition from my Kinetic/Energy weapon to get it to Heroic, and with other players involved you will not get the damage done in time if they are busy killing the regular mobs.
If you manage to turn it Heroic though, the big Blight will disintegrate and a 'Blightmaker' will be spawned, this guy goes down real easy for all the effort it takes to spawn him in and once he's dead then the Heroic will be over.
I almost always avoid doing this one because it's almost impossible to get the Heroic event done, I've done it a few times and only managed to get it Heroic three times, one which ended in failure because the three allies in the area refused to assist me in dealing with the Blightmaker and I simply didn't have any ammo left to take him out.
Locations and specific flag locations for the Events.
Earth -
Trostland - Glimmer Extraction - The flag will be either to the left of the church, in front of Devrim of it or at the back, all three locations are where the mine is, this will no matter what always be the extraction.
Outskirts - Fallen Arsenal, Ether Servitor. - Directly at the fountain near the way to Trostland. The flag will be in the middle if it's the Servitor and slightly outside the fountain if it's the Arsenal I believe, I am not entirely certain with this one.
Winding Cove - Cabal Excavation - Just in front of the fast travel location, this will no matter what always be the excavation.
Firebase Hades - Ether Servitor - Directly under the gigantic Artillery Cannon, this will no matter what always be the Servitor.
The Gulch - Cabal Injection Rig - To the right of the Tunnels entrance, this will no matter what always be the Injection Rig.
The Sludge - Taken Blight, Glimmer Extraction. If the flag is positioned close to the Dark Forest entrance it will be the Blight, while if it's positioned further away and near to Cabal positions in the abandoned factories it will be the extraction. I am not entirely sure with this one.
The Blightmaker for this one is a Taken Fallen Captain.
Sunken Isles - Cabal Injection Rig, Fallen Arsenal. Both of the flags for this one area are in the same location at the top left near Randal the Vandal, I've only ever seen the Arsenal once so I don't know the differences between them for this one.
Titan -
Siren's Watch - Fallen Arsenal - On the huge landing pad just outside of Sloane's hideaway she never leaves, this will no matter what always be the Arsenal.
The Rig - Hive Wizard Ritual - In the centre room of The Rig, with the giant portal, this will no matter what always be the Ritual.
Nessus -
Artifact's Edge - Cabal Excavation - Directly to your front near to the crashed ship as you jump from the TP location, this will no matter what always be the excavation.
The Tangle - Vex Spire Integration, Glimmer Extraction. - If it's near the top/centre of the area then it is the Spire, while if it's at the bottom corner of the area then it is the Glimmer Extraction.
Watcher's Grave - Vex Spire Integration, Ether Servitor. - Directly in the circle in the huge area on the left side of this place, if the flag is in the centre then it the Spire and if it's near the edge then it's the Servitor. I am not entirely sure with this one.
The Cistern - Cabal Injection Rig, Glimmer Extraction. - If the flag is at the far left of the area then it is the Injection Rig, if it's on the right side of the area then it's the Extraction.
Hallows - Vex Spire Integration - If you recall where you saw Cayde during the first story quest, it's positioned right there, this will no matter what be the Spire.
Glade of Echoes - Vex Spire Integration, Glimmer Extraction. - If the flag is positioned on the right as you enter the area, it is the Spire, if it is positioned elsewhere then it's the Extraction. I am not entirely certain on this one if the Glimmer Extraction is actually here as I believe I've done it in this location but I almost never go here so I could be wrong.
Exodus Black - Vex Spire Integration, Ether Servitor. - If the flag is located in the water just to the right of the entrance to Failsafe's area(Best character in the game aside from Cayde). Then it is the Servitor, if it's on dry land further away to the left of the spawn location then it's the Spire Integration.
Io -
The Rupture - Cabal Excavation. - This is located more or less in the middle of the area, it will no matter what always be the excavation.
Lost Oasis - Taken Blight - This is located on the left side of the area, it will no matter what always be the Blight.
The Blightmaker for this one is a Taken Cabal Centurion.
The Rupture - Vex Spire Integration - This is located directly by the Drill that you used to get into the Warmind Vault in the story, it will no matter what always be the Spire.
For any Glimmer Extraction/Taken Blight Public Events, the flags location can change and it's location will be where one of the Fallen Ships/Blights moves to during one of the waves. The locations I've mentioned are where I have almost always seen it and where you can expect it to be so bear this in mind should you remember where the waves are located should you see the flag somewhere else.
For The Cistern, it can overlap with the Injection Rig's location. This is also especially the case in The Sludge.
