JesterUSMC google the picture using BingThis Incendior decided to put me in the middle of a bad crowd. Doors for Randoms are almost as deadly as Platforming is for Jester. I genuinely do not know what killed Potato so fast. This shader somehow landed up on top of the bridge, which honestly is more surprising than my first thought that an Acolyte somehow dropped it. Saving LJ's arse.

JesterUSMC google the picture using BingSo this is apparently the ratio of how materials drop now. Public Events(Heroic) - 4 Materials Flashpoint Bosses - 12 Materials Lost Sectors - 8 Materials High Value Targets - 4 Materials Adventures(Non-Heroic) - 32 Materials Caches - 4 Materials Region Chests - 12 Materials Escalation Protocol Chests - 8-12 Materials Patrols - 4 Materials Material Veins - 1-(Random) Which explains why I got one Seraphite and it gave me 6, while every other one has gave me only 1.

Material veins aren't 1-(Random) they're 1 OR 6 you get 5 common materials in place of the 1 rare material that would've dropped previously.

Shame that the refer a friend 'rewards' so to speak actually look cool this time around (They tried it back in Y1 and it was shit or something). As it isn't like those that are interested the game and play it somewhat reliably with me didn't already own it a year ago. Nor am I interested in the business of trying to trick I mean, 'coerce' people into being interested just for cosmetics.

Expansion pass in about 20 so that's 30 for the game and expansions, not a bad deal but not a great one either

Almost 80gb for the base game and 40 for the expansions?! Welp fuck that it's going straight back to where I bought it from Nani? It's only 76 GB for me, with every DLC being 10 MB since it's more like you are just downloading the access code to be able to actually access them in game than an actual DLC.

I started on it this morning. So far seems to be going good--only had to respawn a few times. Lol. I have to destroy 3 turbines and not sure how to do that so had to take a break. I have something that allows me to level up to 30, but it says it'll skip over some content so haven't done that. I wondered if you all use those? I don't think I'm going to use it cause I don't want to skip any of the story and stuff along the way. I do need to figure out how to destroy a few of those fellows. When they start hurling fireballs and putting up shields, it's a real pain and I seem to have forgotten where the button to melee is. Don't worry for me though. I seem to have mastered jumping already.

Had to manually grind everyone to Lvl 50.

I don't want to be bothering you all with a lot of questions on this, but I do have some. I'll have to read through this thread too. I'm guessing there's no way to save during a mission? I left the game before the first mission was finished and had to start over again when I started it back up. I finished the first one and started the next. I haven't gotten very far on the next one so I'm ok with starting over there. I just don't want to have to redo the first one yet again.
I found my inventory and not really sure how all that stuff works. Hopefully some of that will be cleared up from this thread. I might need to look for a quick start guide for beginners somewhere.

I found my inventory and not really sure how all that stuff works. Hopefully some of that will be cleared up from this thread. I might need to look for a quick start guide for beginners somewhere. Yeah not a single story mission out there I think where it saves progress mid-mission. Certain stuff like Shattered Throne and Raids do have Checkpoints per encounters but those are only saved weekly and well you're not gonna be getting around to any of those soon since they are endgame. There's the 'inventory' for your armour and all that, basically just loadout. You get random drops, you just swap between them and that and the LL of the gear determines your LL which is the only point where your Level itself actually matters because X LL weapon/armour might need you to be say, Lvl 10 to have LL that high. The other inventory is split between four things. Pursuits - Any quest/bounty or perhaps item tied directly to a quest. With them being separate to the story itself and almost always multi-step progress towards a weapon. Just as an example, you can kill Cabal on Nessus and at random get an item called 'On the Comms' which is a quest thing that to progress means having to clear the Leviathan Raid, add in some more steps leading to the Legend of Acrius Exotic Shotgun. Or for Bounties, stuff that just about every vendor will have ranging from PvE Bounties anywhere, to being in Strikes, or on that specific planet, yada yada which are just sort of like 'Kill 30 Enemies using your Super in the EDZ'. Consumables - The name just gives it away really, consumable items either as vendor items you turn in to Rank Up with vendors, or use later on in the game to use so that you can take a current armour/weapon you have and 'infuse' it into another weapon/armour to upgrade it to the LL of that weapon/armour. But it's costly so it's not really something you should be doing much until endgame. Mods - Primarily weapon/armour mods that used to be so much different during Y1 but then they changed the shit out of it I'd say for the better. Really until you get to Lvl 50 and start getting multiple Legendary drops and all of that you really wont see much of these. But it's just stuff like 'Resilience Mod' that buffs a mostly useless stat by 1, Counterbalance Stock that changes the way the recoil on that gun you put it on works. This is also though the slot that Weapon Ornaments, Ghost Effects and Transmat Effects go into. The Ornaments/Ghost Effect are then just able to be dismantled because they are then unlocked to all characters on your account, while the Transmat Effects don't work that way. But all of those are purely visuals so honestly just get rid of them anyway. All the Transmat Effect does for instance is just change the animation you have when you load in to an activity. Shaders - These are just 110% all visuals. You'll get shaders from just about anything really. Random chests and engrams on Y1 Planets will have a chance at dropping shaders tied to them, getting Y2 Weapons may have a shader equipped on them that if you dismantle it you'll just get the shader off it then added to your collections, doing Encounters in Y1 Raids will give you shaders for completing them, yada yada. Bright Engrams which you can either buy with real money or simply get rewarded, once you hit Lvl 50 you will get a Bright Engram every time you 'level up' again will also always contain a random stack of 3 Shaders. You can go onto your guns/armour and individually change their look with them. If a Shader is just from random activities or off a gun you can just go into your collections and pull more of it out with Legendary Shards/Glimmer but if it was one you got from a Bright Engram it'll require Bright Dust to get more from Collections. Other small tidbits. On the top right of the loadout bit you will have the blue square stuff, Glimmer. Purple pointy things that are Legendary Shards, Silver coins if you have Silver which is the microtransaction currency or Bright Dust which is what you get dismantling just about anything you got from Bright Engrams, to get stuff related to Bright Engrams and whatnot. You get Glimmer from anything, you get Legendary Shards once you start getting Legendary engrams dropping and dismantling gear like that, from Scrapper Bounties and a few other things. Silver only by paying with real money for it and Bright Dust from just dismantling Shaders you got but don't want from Bright Engrams and other things. On the 'Inventory' bit with the Pursuits and all that there's the 10 Engrams at the top where engrams go. In the past that used to be any Legendary/Exotic/Bright Engram but in Y2 they changed it so that except for super special cases like getting Y1 capped Legendary/Exotic from Y1 Raids, if an engram drops and you run over it it just immediately gives you what was in it rather than wasting time having to go to a Cryptarch to decrypt it. Bright Engrams and Prime Engrams will be the only ones that take up that slot now pretty much, and you wont be getting many of the Brights for a while and not a single Prime I think until you hit Lvl 50 and like, 500 LL. As far as Weapons/Armour go and its even used to show off the 'rarity' of Consumables and basically what type of gear you'll get from a Quest. White is Common, Green is Uncommon, Blue is Rare, Purple is Legendary and Yellow is Exotic. The 'rarer' they are the more options you'll have in the stats that you can change except for Exotics. They are specific, Exotic Armour can roll random perks on them but Weapons will always be the same. They'll almost always have something that makes them 'special' but a lot of them are honestly shiiite. The 'trick' with them is you can only have one piece of Exotic Armour or one Exotic Weapon equipped at any time. You can have Exotic Armour on and using an Exotic Weapon but you can't use two Exotic Weapons or two Exotic pieces of Armour.

I'll leave it here since it'll probably be easier.
For anyone interested in getting the game after Forsaken, or perhaps owned the game prior but are interested in getting Forsaken cause I think that's how it works, there's the Refer-a-Friend system. Basically how I believe that it works is that upon getting Forsaken and the first time you get the game on after buying it, there's then a week period wherein you can accept a 'Refer-a-Friend' link code thingimajig with someone who's already been playing the game.
Doing so gives a quest from Hawthorne, one of the first characters you meet that both players will get wherein doing multiple steps will offer rewards my belief, is for both players. Mostly cosmetics really. First is useless notes that mean you can get Eververse Bounties to get Bright Dust but the amount is small mostly, then it's a Bright Engram, then 3 Boons of the Crucible which are just stuff you can use to get additional token drops in the PvP. Then after that it's an Exotic Sniper Rifle so at least a guaranteed drop, then it's a ship which is just visuals, then an emblem and an ornament for said Exotic Sniper which are again just visuals.
That's just for one though. As far as I'm aware, you'll get those other rewards again except the Emblem/Ornament because they will then be unlocked to the account and aren't stuff you can dismantle. But you will also get more.
Reaching Step 3 with two linked people (Not at the same time I should mention) will get you an Exotic Sparrow, helping three reach Step 3 will get you an exclusive emote and an ornament for the Sparrow. After that point the more you help finish the quest entirely you get an extra Bright Engram.
So I'll leave the option there cause I'm fine with helping 'new' players get into it and I do admit I kinda want that Sparrow, it looks cool. So simply ask and I can send you the referral code that begins the 'link', after that point there's no longer any time limit to it as far as I can tell outside of the 7-day limit since purchasing Forsaken and starting Destiny 2 with it purchased that you can accept the link code.
As a heads up though, from what I believe, if say I get someone else linked and do it to Step 3, only I'd get the Sparrow. If they want it they'd need to then link two of their friends and do it as the 'Guide' themselves cause I guess that's just their smarter way of going about it to encourage friends to get other friends into it. It looks to me on the site like I can just have multiple people all on the same step or even various steps all at the same time so it's not like someone has to wait their turn.
To use the link code to start it, it does require a Bungie.net account. Not too difficult to make, I just really don't recommend looking at those forums, if people think the WoT Forums are bad they'd be in for quite a surprise.

I went to Trostland and there were other players there that were much higher levels. I tried to help them when I saw them fighting several enemies. But I noticed they kept getting chests dropped and I got some crystals dropped too.
Is it bad form for me to also collect loot?
I figured it was ok since I saw them go collect it and then it also let me. I just don't want to make players mad at me.
