Alright guys, so this is my first one of these so I'm a bit rusty.
So the T-54 is a outstanding piece of metal, it truly is a gift from out God Stalin.
The stock grind can be painful for the APCR pen is still really low and required flanking shots, there are two ways to the T54 that I would recommend, the T54Light or the T44; the T54 light will research the fully upgraded engine and radio for you, but you will still have to grind the stock gun, which is the same as the LB-1 with worse gun stats, or, go from the T-44 and research the gun and radio, and have to grind the painful stock engine, either or is a good option.
T-54 before fully upgraded-
I would recommend carrying 60% APCR and 40% AP, 175 penetration just doesn't cut it in a tier 9 game, and the APCR is only ~235, so so really need flanking shots to be totally effective. You should sit back a tad and watch the map to see what happens in the first 2-3 minutes and then go the weakest point in the enemy line where you can use your turret to your advantage( don't rely on it for it doesn't bounce HEAT) and when the option arises, rush in for the flank and get behind the OpFor lines and cause havok
Fully upgraded
Use the 100mm that goes to the object 140, you are going to be HEAT spamming anyways so you want better gun stats. For ammo, I run 15 AP/ 30 HEAT/ and 5 HE, I start with HEAT and spam it until I am certain AP will pen. Now that you are fully upgraded and loading those high pen HEAT ( marked at 330) you can start to be more aggressive on the front lines. What you need to do now is make sure you have an understanding of the maps and key locations, these locations are usually ones where you can get hull-down or have a height advantage over the Reds. Do not be afraid to shoot flat armor anymore, those HEAT shells will pen the cheeks of VK Bravo Turrets and E-100 chassis cheeks, so basically anything flat or remotely flat. After you fire, wiggle your turret and back up creating a slight upward angle on your tank maximizing effectiveness or your sloped armor and turret, and then pre aim and pull forward, this tactic works best on Great Wall or Karelia when you own the hill and can shoot them and they can only shoot your turret, and since you have the high ground you are in a God like posistion. Never snipe unless you need to, for it wastes this tanks potential. If any of you T-54 users want to platoon, I'll be happy to, add me, I'm X1 UnicumTanking
And here's to show the potential hehehe
