I live in the Western part of North Carolina in the US. Yuri, I would say I probably live within 2-3 hours of where you live. I am west of Asheville. Your pictures look very much like where I'm at.
I would also like to say that you guys live in some very neat looking places. I will try to get some pics of here posted pretty soon.
It is pretty neat how we seem to be a reasonably tight knit bunch here. That is perhaps the best quality of being here in the Bunker

about 5-10 miles south of me I get this:  However most of the area is yellow pine forest. No really tall buildings due to having 2 air bases in the local area. also, the weather this time of year sucks. It's 90 F from about 830 - 1800 with 90% or more humidity. |

I live in northern British Columbia, Canada. I ride a moose to work, I live in an igloo, I can speak the language of the muskrats and I'm exceedingly polite to people.
Only the last 2 parts are true.
I live in a small city in northern BC, its regularly -40 degrees celcius here in the winter and it snows a few feet usually. The warmest it gets in the summer is 30degrees, usually for a few days, then it starts getting colder.
I am surrounded by thick pine and birch forests, and many long river valleys. Camping, hiking and hunting are very common passtimes, and a good portion of the population plays hockey on the multitude of frozen lakes around my city in the long winter months, which make up a majority of the year.
This area is an outdoorsman's paradise, and those with sufficient survival skills can spend innumerable hours exploring the vast, pristine, snow capped mountain ranges that dot the province.

I'm in IOWA. I have lived on a farmstead for about 25 years that my wife & I purchased several years ago. It was one of several farms owned by a family that I did hired man work with for many years. They retired, sold a couple farms, sectioned off a couple of the homes on the others & sold them to the tenants, they rent out the land & a couple other homes. I still do the maintenance/groundskeeping for the home farm & the rentals. It's a plain old farmhouse, nothing fancy, kinda small, the barns are much bigger, but it's quiet & peaceful.
