So I unlocked the top package on the IS-3 today and all in all I love this tank. I just kinda click with it as far as going hull down and wiggling my turret and all that. I mean I love the armor profile basically.
I see the IS-7 has a similiar pike nose and turret profile. If I love the IS-3 and how it scraps am I going to love the IS-7? I'm wondering if they play similarly.

The IS-8 stock is one of the worst tanks I've ever played, it has nothing going for it. Fully upgraded, it still does not have reliable armor, but the top speed and the top gun are both good. I'd recommend free xp-ing to the fully upgraded IS-8 instead of skipping it all together. That's what I'd do if I had to play the line over again, I ground out the IS-8 from stock, and it was bad... |

Yeah, with so many bad reviews that sounds about right. I'll most likely go to the top like you say and then I'll give it a fair shot to see how it is. I've wanted the IS-7 for a long time so it might be a quick ride.
The IS-3 however is already decked out in permanent camo and equipment, it's my favorite of the line so far.

I'm the opposite of a lot of people in that I really didn't like the IS3 but absolutely love the IS8 for some odd reason.

I love the IS-8 too. but yeah the IS-7 is like the IS-3 for the most part.
The only real difference is that the IS-3 has a marginally more reliable gun than the IS-7 while the IS-7 has marginally more reliable armor.
But they still don't play differently enough for it to mean much of anything.

The IS-3 and the 7 do play similar but the main difference, to me anyways, is the gun on the 7 isn't as good, on tier, as the BL-9 on the 3. However the turret on the 7 seems to be better than the 3. Regarding the IS-8, it plays differently to its predecessor and successor. It is essentially a big medium tank with a heavys' gun, when fully upgraded. Flank and peek-a-boom with it, conserve your HP for later in matches and it will shine
