I've been playing plenty of arty, TD's and lights since I started playing with the Xbox One release. I've been playing two heavy lines, E-100 and IS-7 lines, and I'm enjoying learning to play heavies.
What I've been neglecting though are mediums. I don't even have a medium above tier five. Besides premiums I hardly play mediums at all. I hear they are very effective in combat and can sway the outcome of a match more so than any class at times.
Just to specify a little of what I'm looking for, I need something that has decent pen, I don't care so much about alpha. Mobility would be a priority as well.
So.. what line should I try out with my lack of experience in mind? What line will teach me but also be rewarding? I intend on going all the way to tier ten.

From what i have read the all around medium line is the American. I have played upto the Jumbo Sherman but then went the T29 route instead of going to the Pershing. If you have the Fury you know how the Easy 8 plays. the Jumbo is a heavy medium and can act as a very good bullet spunge to hold a choke when it is high tier. just angle the front while hiding your side with a bolder or building and let the 105mm or the 76 M1A1 with the stock turret sing. For the American Mediums (anyone please coorect me if I'm wrong or have better ideas) use Vents, Rammer, place third equipment here, 100 octane, small 1st aid, and small repair. I have Green Thumb with camo net on my M4(because I tend to be low tier so I sit back and provide support fire). I would advise Snap shot, SS, Off-Road, Smooth Ride, maintenance(because the Russian Derps tend to light them on fire), and Track Repair(and tracked medium is a DEAD medium). From what I have seen (as I have not played it) the German Medium line to the E50M is good too. Please anyone correct me if I am wrong on anything. Thank you and hope it helps.

I never run Octane on my American mediums. Equipment is Vert Stabilizers, Rammer, and Optics. The American mediums all have excellent view range, and Optics will allow you to keep it even when bottom tier. I also run a fire extinguisher on them mandatory (at least until Fire Fighting is trained), as they can be prone to lighting up. Crew skills in order of selection are as follows: 6th Sense, Brothers in Arms, Repairs, Smooth Ride/Snapshot. They have excellent gun depression and dispersion on the move, so abuse them. They are all around very good medium tanks.
That being said, with you coming from heavy tanks, you might want to go down the E50M line first. The grind will be easier since you'll have unlocked a few of the guns already, the Panthers have excellent pen and accuracy (and you don't mind low alpha), and the E50/E50M can be "Pocket Heavies" when needed.
Just remember, the stock grinds for the Pershing, M46 Patton, and E50 are widely regarded as among the worst in the game, so either bring lots of free xp for them, or prepare yourself for a few dozen matches of pure misery.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Russian mediums, the STB-1 and E50M are my favourites though.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Russian mediums, the STB-1 and E50M are my favourites though. yeah what he said. obj140 or t62a through the lights or the med t44 line, the e50 and e50m are good also. i personly think the pershing is the star of the usa med line and worth grinding just for that tank alone. |
