We'll do that third TD line first: Tier II TD- Loyd Carrier 2 PdrA similar idea to the Universal Carrier, using a Loyd Carrier. There are two versions of this:  or this:  Tier III TD- Crusader AA Mk. IA self-propelled AA gun on the Crusader chassis, it featured a 40mm Bofors gun in a big boxy turret.  Tier IV TD- Airborne 6 Pounder SPA later-war proposal for a self propelled 6 Pounder for use by airborne forces, based on the Universal Carrier.  Tier V TD- Ram 3.7'' SPA self propelled AA/AT vehicle based on the Canadian Ram tank, with a 3.7'' AA gun.  Tier VI TD- AT Crusader 17 Pdr SP
A proposal for a 17 Pounder mounted on the Crusader chassis. Ammunition to be carried in a large box to the rear.  Tier VII TD- FV303
Another part of the FV300 series, which also included the FV304, this version had a 20 Pounder gun in a limited traverse.  Tier VIII TD- FV4401 Contentious
A 20 Pounder autoloading fixed elevation AT gun based on the Comet chassis. It also exists with a 105mm L7, so there's an upgrade choice. The tank had hydraulic suspension that lowered or raised the front or back of the tank to elevate the gun, but we can play god with that and give it elevation.  Tier IX TD- FV205
A proposal for an AT gun on a Conqueror chassis. I don't know what the gun was but I'd say 20 Pounder and/or 120mm L1A1. 105mm L7 too, maybe.  Tier X TD- FV3807 "JagdChieftain"
Officially the FV3807 Chieftain Concept Test Rig (CTR), this was a 120mm AT gun based on the Chieftain chassis. It, again, had no traverse or elevation, instead manipulating the chassis to move the gun.  |

Interesting thread and great fun to look at all these concept tanks. Thanks for putting it together. I particularly like the 2nd version of the Loyd Carrier and the "Contentious."

That tier 3 crusader with the bofors looks like it'd be a tier 3 waffle. I'd be fin to try that out.

But it mentions the initial idea of mounting the 17pdr on the Bishop. Also i didnt know the Archer crews served the gun from the outside and the driver had to leave the vehicle whilst it was firing |
