Hey folks, i posted this on the 'other' forum and did get a couple of answers but it got buried in crap (surprise!)
I'm contemplating skipping some grinds (just about to finish a month of nightshift so fuck grinding...)
And i'm torn between skipping from 5 to 8/9 in french heavies or from 13 75 to lorraine / as far as the xp will take me...
I've been told that the lines share modules and guns so which grind is the most painful and therefore better to skip? I'm gonna have about 250k (ish) free xp and want to use it to take away as much 'pain' as possible...
Thanks :-)

The French Tier 6 and 7 heavies share gun modules so guess you are saving some XP there, but I'd have to look at the tree again to see if you can skip any along the way to get to the Tier 8.
As you know, the lower tiered French heavies are slow with decent guns and so-so armor. If that's not your preferred playstyle, then I'd certainly skip right to the Tier 8 autoloader. I thought about doing that myself (I'm on the 6 right now) but I decided to take it slow and build up the crew along the way.

I'm in the tier 7 heavy...both the six and seven tier grinds are rather lengthy. I'm not hating it, but I can't run repeated battles in them w/o getting bored. You will probably have more fun actually playing the other French line, so I would skip the heavies to tier 8 and play the other line.

The AMX M4 45 isn't a bad tank when fully upgraded. Its kind of like a slower Tiger.

I had fun in the 13 75 and 90 but I completely skipped the Loraine to the BC.

I can pen T29's at an angle, and really for a heavy, I find it fairly mobile. Weak armor, but I am definitely not hating it. Have about 15k left to get the Tier 8 unlocked and am thinking I might keep it. Don't know what it is, but I seem to get along with it okay.

Honestly just use the free xp to fully upgrade tanks, none of the tanks are bad fully upgraded between both lines.

Just be careful of with the 50 100's reload and the 50 120's gun elevation and depression, it has 6* up and down.

I had fun in the 13 75 and 90 but I completely skipped the Loraine to the BC. Haven't played either line, but that's what I've heard a few others suggest -- play the ELC because lol, skip the 12t because it is bad, play the 75 and 90 because they can be quite good, skip the Lorraine because BatChat.

I watched a few friends grind the Lorraine and I realized it wasn't for me. I am on the 50 100 right now and that reload is killing me. LOL

I liked the 12t, but that's mostly because I played it stock for a bunch games before I realized I had like 2-3x the XP I needed to fully upgrade it. I hated it during those early games. But once I got it fully upgraded, it seemed good in comparison. But I liked the 75, and the 90 is pretty awesome. If I was going to skip anything, I might skip the 12t and 75 because they become redundant when you get the 90. But they teach you how to play the 90, so unless you're good in passive lights already, I don't recommend skipping them.

I'm on the 13 75 just now and its ok but dont know if i'll enjoy the next tanks in the line
On tier v heavy bdgr whatever you call it and it trolls the shit out of me, every shot (decent crew and fully aimed) bounces or flies off outside the reticle...
Basically wondering how much benifit skipping ahead in one line will help in the other - am finding lights more palatable, but are the 50 100 & 50 120 less pain than the lorraine - also does doing the heavies shorten lorraine grind?
Sorry to be a pain, 7th 10 hour night shift in a row and cant get a good look at the tech tree to see which modules are shared...
