I'm curious to what type, make or brand of mic my fellow tankers use to play tanks. I use Turtle Beach brand, the XP 400 with the MS adapter, Ear Force X-Rays & also recently purchased the XO Seven Pro's which are also Turtle Beach brand. I have had great luck with these version sound, adjustability in ear piece & mic boom placement, voice clarity. Disclaimer this is my first thread apologies for grammer errors.

I recently got the Turtle beach Stealth 420's. Awesome sound, left side right side accurate and lots of mobility. I think my three month old daughter wouldnt recognize me with them off lol.

I have a really nice set of turtlebeachs that I dont use because the mic is to sensitive on the one. A fish can fart in the aquarium half way across the house and team mates can hear it. I have the XBOX Princess Lea style and the XBOX One single ear style. 99% of the time when I use a mic I just use the over one ear MS unit.

turtle beach xo1. cheap and came with adapter.
no as good as the turtle beach set i have for the 360 as i understand the production has been farmed out to china and quality has dropped badly.
im looking for a better set at good price so i'll be following this thread.

I agree on the fall of quality. The XP400 were for the 360. With the MS adapter the work great on the one. Thanks to all for your input so far.

I have ear force Tango's and they were great on the 360, but due to lack of blu tooth support on the one I don't use them very much any more. It's the only after market headset I have ever bought so can't compare them to any others but the sound quality and features on them are outstanding. I just hope they make a blu tooth adapter for the One in the not to distant future.

Johnarrowsmith you can use your Tango's with the MS adapter & the Turtle Beach chat back cable. Or us a PS4 chat back cable without the adapter.

I used to use Turtle Beach PX5 when on 360, but when I moved over to One they did not seem compatible. I started using the Microsoft One stereo headset that I got as a bundle as a stopgap and have stayed with it. If anyone has experience with PX5/One, I'd love to hear how you worked it out?

Thanks again Gripall. I'd seen the youtube vid before but not the reddit thread. I've got audio but no mic now. No worries since I don't mic that often. Will post back if I find a solution to the mic issue.

I now have both great surround audio and mic working. The trick was to reduce the controller volume output all the way down, '-' until the low beep. When this was somewhere in the middle or at the top and the headset volume was turned up, too, there were actually two separate signals coming in to the headset. It made a really shrilly, metallic shriek. But with the controller setting all the way down and using only the headset volume control, the old TB surround sound is back. Thanks for helping out with the links. I am in preset 4 sonic heaven now. |
