Wonder what would be considered the more skill based game WT ( ground forces) or WOT? I would say War Thunder, it is much more unforgiving. If you make a single mistake you are dead, there is no pulling back into cover when almost every shot can one-hit kill you. Though they take different types of skill, WoT is much more about learning angles and maneuverability between vehicles. I would say WT is more about learning exactly when to make your move, and WoT is learning about how to make your move. Yeah, I'm learning this the hard way. Think I've watched more vids learning WT than I ever have WoT, and I've still got so much to learn. |

They're very different, and I suppose you could say WT is more skill-based, because physics actually exists and the shell and damage mechanics are much more ruthless. It can be a one-hit-and-you're-dead sort of affair sometimes, so it's quite a change from WoT. |

I'd say WTGF realistic is more challenging, you need to visually locate tanks, and you get no assist with aiming, tanks behave a lot differently too, for example my Strv 81 while not a speed demon, is a mobile machine in arcade, but a bit of a sluggish creature in RB

Quick one, if I want to research a tank, can I use planes to get the XP or does it have to drive tanks? Has to be tank XP to research tanks and the same for planes. (And presumably boats when they appear). |

I also need to sing the praises of the M8 Greyhound, the thing is the fucking harbinger of death in RB, your 37mm misses? M2 Browning them to death, thing is my pride and joy for low tier clubbing, (that and the M3A1 USMC)

I think the Greyhound was given away for the 5th anniversary, along with the I-29. I might be remembered it wrong, maybe it was one of the German armoured cars instead, but I'd heartily recommend the I-29.

That's one of the only issues I have with the game (the UI is another), the PC has a massive advantage over console when it comes to aiming, I know I'll improve and there will always be better players so I'll just have to lump it. Plus at least I can choose another plane/tank and get back into it. I started knowing I would be switching to Xbox, think that's why I've not gone hard into grinding, I'm still happy testing the premiums and doing PvE (and getting used to the UI). When it it does turn up on Xbox I'll still need the PS4 for Armoured Warfare as well. |
