Now this forum has momentum, and it's certainly different from the other one and better in so many ways. However with around 200 plus members here vs the thousands in the other one, it's likely and normal that growth and activity on this one will slow down a little.
The advantage here though is that we're not under all the appalling corporate restrictions and bullshit that the other one labours under. Yes, some of us still pop into it regularly because there are still things worth saying there as well as here and that's good.
But my question is what can we suggest to R3ST and Violet here and how can we help to make things even better? The Bunker has already got off to an awesome and successful start but as ever there are always loads of ways to make things even better.
Maybe things like regular live chats between the best players here, and the not so good players with the highlights then being posted. There are some seriously good Purples here and it would be something that could be lightly 'promoted' in the other forum to build awareness of this one.
There are loads of other things that could be done but let's pool our thoughts to help the amazing work that's already been done by R3ST and Violet.
In r/l, I've worked on building many on-line communities over the years and it's tough and time-consuming and the more help and support we can give them the more useful and fun The Bunker will be for all of us.
So bring it on. Suggestions please.
P.s.I know there is a board for suggestions but thought more people on the forum might see the post here. Suggestions either here or on the suggestions board are good though.

Perhaps a "tutoring" program? Your sentence about purples and not-so-purples made me think of this.
Anyone needing help with a specific tank could post a topic asking for help. Then, instead of just telling them how to play the tank in question, someone who excels in that tank could take the person who asked into a training room, or platoon with them and show them the best ways to play it.

I like the purple poster section in wotlabs. It would be a good place for people to get reliable info.

Some kind of live chat would be absolutely awesome. Would be great to be able to platoon up at a moment's notice.

So a kind of mentor type section to go with guide area with have? Sounds good to us. We could add an ask a unicum area, people could use it to ask for help training and for specific questions if you guys want? We would just have to be careful of creating any kind of potential stat related division within the forum.

The live chat idea has been suggested. Where platoons are concerned it would be great (if there is a way to implement it), however we wouldn't want a chat function to become the default posting area for people and turn the forum itself into a ghost town where posts are concerned. Is that a legitimate concern or do you guys think that wouldn't happen?

Remember, most people who coach professional sports, weren't hall of fame players in that sport. Someone with a 900 WN8 might know a particular tank/map/gun/strategy/whatever better than anyone else in the game, but stuggle at the rest of it. A mentor just needs to be someone who you feel does a thing the way you'd like to do it, and has a willingness to teach. Someone with a 4000 WN8 That hates other humans and only communicates with clicks and grunts will not be useful.

I doubt that the chat would become default it would be good for finding people quickly.

There is no asshole telling people to get good as they don't tolerate that in thathttp://forum.wotlabs.net/index.php?/forum/14-ask-a-purple-poaster/ section. The point is to get reliable info and strategies from people who are very good at the game. Besides I have faith in this community that that won't happen and if it did our mids would be all over it.

Is that a legitimate concern or do you guys think that wouldn't happen? I'm thinking maybe use Twitter or Skype and say have Royce, Turbo or Snowshoes or similar answering questions for new people or people who want to know how to play a particular tank or map but just for 30 mins each week, no more, even 15 would be good. Then edit out the typos from it and you have '30 mins with Royce' or '15 mins with Turbo'. By Live Chat in this case I mean text based. I think you'd get eight or nine pretty good things covered in 15 to 30 minutes. Maybe invite some of the Streamers to do it such as Soviet or Alle Haptism and let them promote their streams as a Quid Pro Quo for doing it. Then everyone wins, they get promotion for their Streams (ie more subs) and ask them to mention their 30/15 mins session for The Bunker and it's URL, so the Bunker get more members. Some have many subscribers and followers who'd then find The Bunker. These sessions could then be posted as a 'topic' and discussed so in many senses it would encourage more posts IYSWIM. We use Skype chat at work and it's pretty good but I'm sure there are loads of alternatives. You don't need audio or anything just the 'host' and half a dozen people and you're good to go. I'm thinking a USP for the forum might be 'where the real players hang out'. I reckon we already have a higher per cent of Purples than on the other forum and that's a good thing. I agree that we don't want the stats faction thing building up so we could mix into the session with some non purple players or newer players as well. Some examples might be... 15 mins with Sqdn Leader B to talk about British tanks (and biplanes) 15 mins with Killer Etzio to talk about the Hellcat (4K games at a 60% WR can't be bad and IMHO says 'expert') 15 mins with Sgt Becket FEAR covering the Tiger (it'd only be text chat and as we know he has three MoE in it) (Sorry if you guys are Purple now but that doesn't matter, you're good people.) Working with the streamers as will would expose the forum to many more players. Hope this helps.

Just remembered, Forum software often includes a live chat text function that you can easily set up with it. Worth seeing if it is included

Make a post on the forum to say you're looking then go into live text chat to sort out the details or just use it to set up a platoon.

I used to run a music forum and we used to invite celebrities to do the text chats. So what we did is tell everyone the celebrity is going to be on at a set time e.g. 8 pm until 8.30 pm. When I say celebrities these people were huge, you'd know their names if I shared them with you, and we often had 000s join the chat. So many we had to heavily moderate as sometimes people said very rude things to the celeb (think the digital equivalent of throwing your underwear on the stage). Outside the set times though, the chat rooms were always deserted.

I'll go have a look at at it now

Great post mate i'm going to set up a twitter account for the Bunker as you and others have mentioned it now and it will prove helpful. Hopefully others would want to help here as it's going to be quite a handful but if people are willing to contribute with things similar to what you've mentioned then i think it will definately be worth doing. Like you said we have alot of good players here, with alot of knowledge. I already know that Sovietdeath and Beckett probably won't be joining us but we have other arty players and 3 mark Tiger drivers who could cover those aspects. Both myself and Violet really like how much everyone wants this forum to succeed and grow I'd setup a Skype too but tbh i'm in more rooms than i can handle already with that due to supertest lol, it's hard to keep track and i'd rather not risk posting supertest info on a bunker skype by mistake.

I added the shoutbox, I'm going to mess around with the size and placement later. (it's right at the bottom atm)
Edit: I decided to disable it until I figure out where to put it lol
