First off, I want to say that I enjoy this forum as a way to relax, share information and learn from others.
That said, most of us have a life away from Wots and this forum, but "escape" here and to the XBOX for leisure. In a sense, it's a fraternity of folks from different backgrounds, cultures and countries that share an affinity for tanks. I've gotten to learn some of the background and other interests outside of tanks from a few of the forumers in another thread and thought it would be a decent idea to share a little about our backgrounds (not too much) and how you got into Wots to possibly grow the already good camaraderie.
I'm 47, been married for 26 years in April and have three boys aged 24, 22 and 17. I was in the active duty US Navy from 1986-1997 and served in the reserves until 2002. I've been in the construction equipment industry since 1997 and currently work as a regional territory manager in the upper Midwest for the world's largest manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. I spent almost 8 years traveling overseas working on distribution channel development and have visited 55 countries and flown over 2 million miles.
I never played video games until about 2 years ago when I saw my oldest son playing WoTs on his XBOX. I watched for awhile before I asked him if I could try it and I was hooked from the start. I played about 7,000 battles before I stumbled on a YouTube video and decided I wanted to improve my gameplay. My wife thinks I'm nuts playing video games, but has sat and watched me on occasion and supports my hobby.

I'm Boab (Bob for the Americans among us). A 34 year old with mobility and joint issues that doesn't do much anymore besides play games and watch movies. I was a carer until I had to give up my job dues to illness. I enjoy nearly all types of music, movies.. Even ones considered poor, and videogames. In my late teens and early 20's I travelled round Europe and worked in hotels and restaurants as a chef. Seeing and involving myself in different cultures made me appreciate my own in a different light than I did before. I am proud Scot, but have Irish Grandparents on both sides.
My first experience of videogames was possibly a Commodore 64 that my friend... I forget his name now, but he was a nice dude... let me have a shot of. I vaguely remember the game taking about 45 mins to load up, then being totally blown away at what I was experiencing. My first console was a NES, which I still have but sadly no longer works.
My love of videogames and movies have gotten me by the hard times I've been facing in the last few years. I will continue to play for as long as I possibly can, and am confident that, due to technological advances, there will be aids available to help me, and anyone else in similar situations, game for many years to come.

My name is Fled and I'm an alcoholic. Wait, wrong meeting. In FledBasher but you can call me God. All the ladies do I like long walks on the beach and candle lit dinners. I am a billionaire cowboy astronaut and love spending time doing charity. I help under privileged kids and rescue cute animals. This scar on my arm? Got it running into a burning orphanage. While going back to save a goldfish the escape tiger from the zoo attacked a box full of puppies. He caught my arm while saving them. But I don't like to talk about myself too much. Tell me more about you.

I'm a soon 34 year old snowman from far up north, almost on the border between Sweden and Finland, though i've moved a bit south to a city close to the Baltic Sea.
Married since last summer to a wonderful woman i met a long time ago while playing a mmorpg. She only lived about 2000km away in Czech Republic but with two work free weeks on a six week schedule and getting rid of my nicotine addiction, there was enough time and money for traveling a lot.
I used to actively play Football (soccer for all you bastards who are wrong) until age 23 and Ice Hockey until age 16.
I love fishing, mostly during the summer. I read a lot of books, mainly Fantasy and History.
I help disabled people for a living and i've been doing it for too long, i will soon look for something else.
Main music taste is Metal but i usually describe it as from Reggae to Death Metal.
I live with my wife and our two cats, Black Aliss and Lemmy.

Hewd...I have a tremendous amount of respect for those in your line of work. My cousin had serious physical and mental disabilities after getting hit by a car on his bicycle. I'm still humbled by the compassion, firmness, professionalism and patience of the two people that would come in to help care for him. Thank you.

I did the same thing for work, hewd. If I was able, I'd still be doing it. It's funny that eventually, the thing that I did for work, is something a person will probably be doing for me. I worked in a respite unit, where people came to have a holiday. I got to go to really cool places with cool people. It was awesome. It's definitely a profession you have to be passionate about.

It feels better to work with people than with things, though it will never be a high status job. Doing this for about thirteen years, i started after i was done with my military training, has been a bit draining. It's hard to disconnect after some shifts and i feel i will have to do something different in a year or two.

A change of location may do good. I know it can be hard to switch off after a shift, but downtime is important. As is making time for yourself where you can disconnect for a wee bit. I always said that if I was interested in money, I'd still be a chef. Just think... for the people you care for, you may be the most important person in their life. To them, you are high status.

I'm an 18 Year old (will be 19 in April) British prick who lives close to the border of Scotland in a lil' crappy place called Carlisle. I don't do anything outside of stay at home all day and pretty much watch videos, play games and all that jazz and haven't really done anything for what, about a year and a half maybe? I'm introverted as all hell in real life, I pretty much fear interacting with other people and whatnot, though I'm largely quite fine with on the internet (one could say, I like the anonymity and such). I've probably been playing video games since I was like, 4 or 5, though I humorously had never played anything online at all until I was 11-12 When my brother and I first got Xbox Live and a laptop, which is when I started posting on a bunch of different forums. Between then and now, well, it'd be hard to list all the different games I've played of course but since then I've gotten a PC And got into WoT Solely because a friend of mine decided we should play it after watching Girls und Panzer (yeah yeah, let's not get into that). That was soon-to-be 3 Years ago, which is funny, as I only just recently hit 10,000 Battles. Yeah, I don't actually play WoT That much. Hell if I know why I actually got into posting on the WoT Console forums which of course led to posting here. I played a very small amount of games on Xbox WoT With a friend because he wanted to see how it was, didn't really enjoy it and haven't played since. Some day I just realised I could actually create an account on the Console forums and so I did; I have over 20,000 Posts on the PC EU Forums, so why the hell not, it's always fun to post on more forums. Even if I hadn't found that I don't like Xbox WoT, I would still probably never play it as I can't remember the last time I actually played on my Xbox since the group of friends I played with dispersed over a year or so ago and so it ain't ever as fun as it was. That's about all I could come up with.

My name's Bill (duh) I'm as old as the super bowl, and my 30 second ads cost just as much.
Been gaming in one form or another since pong (still have it), and prolly could've afforded a 30 second ad in the puppy bowl with all the money I've spent gaming.
My back hurts. That is all Oh yeah, stay hard.
