Deadpool - excellent.
If you like cinema and don't know about this film. Hello?? Get outside. Please.
Funny as fuck, bit of blood, and taking the piss out if itself. Good start to the year for superhero films.
And
Beasts of No Nation
Film about child soldiers in Africa. The way it moves from being about a typical kid to a boy living in a world fuelled by violence, drugs and sex is pretty powerful.
Love idris Elba. This film was scary as hell for me as a/ this type of thing really happens b/ it might as well have been set on another planet as it really had no link to the life I live. My boy is about the same age. Just couldn't think about him having to live this way.

I saw the new Star Wars. It was decent, Had a lot of potential but the characters were kind of just there and lacked any development, Even though there were points they could have easily used to add it in. Half the references to the old moves felt lazy and thrown in too. Like copy/paste sorta thing. |

Luke took the better part of 3 full episodes to become a Jedi/harness his Jedi powers. But the two characters in this movie go from zero to hero across one episode? Complete horseshit. Then you kill off Solo in the first goddamned movie by his dipshit son whose mastery of the dark side is half assed at best. I was seething at the end of the flick. Hot garbage. |

I agree with you both. I've seen every Star Wars with my dad starting with the first one @ age 6. This last one was good but a disappointment in many ways. Sad to see Han Solo get killed off & his son is a real douche bag, one of those characters that's easy to hate. I hope to see him suffer greatly in future works. He's not even remotely intimidating or anywhere near the level of Vader, a complete waste of a character imo. I hope he gets his arms & nutsack hacked off by a Jedi's lightsaber. |
