Today it was announced via the weekly Friday stream that Jeff Gregg, the game's lead designer, is officially done and today was his last day. First PainGod in July and now Jeff Gregg - both seemingly the "masterminds" behind the abominations such as Mercenaries and 6.0 - now gone for good.
Sadly, it may be too little, far too late. How these two clowns weren't fired over the total chaos that was caused by 6.0 will never cease to amaze me. It will be interesting to see where this will take the game, but as I see it, it may be far too little, far too late. The game is currently a rotting corpse barely treading in the water.
It could take a miracle to bring it back to where it once was - its better days.

It’s worth keeping an eye on, in terms of the direction of the game. It would be nice if it was to return, as much as is possible, to it’s pre 6.0 state

Cold War has only caused more internal conflict within the community and has divided a still-collapsing playerbase even further. The damage has been done and the trust is now gone - it's pretty much over. And with WGCB admitting in December of last year that they had been rigging damage and penetration RNG for new players without consulting the community, who the hell knows what else they could be manipulating behind the scenes? This game, after all these years, could actually be rigged after all ... and in more ways than one. The gig is up - WoT Console has reached the point of no return. Now it's just a matter of when the lights will go out, because WGCB will never recover the trust and confidence that has been lost since Mercenaries and 6.0. |

Add to that how they were rigging MoEs the entire time by including a fudge factor for the maps and tank type you're driving.
I just wish they'd bring back the pre 6.0 game (including the pre 4.2 or whatever it was VK45B, but that's just a personal wish  ).
The game has no end state, so grinding a crew up to 25 skills was my end game goal. I had one up to like 20-22 skills, then they killed it. They gave me a bunch of 3-4 skill crews that I don't need for my hard earned 20+ skill crew. That was a major kick in the balls and the main reason I quit. That and how they made crew transfers almost free so there's no reason to have all those 3-4 skill crews if I can just transfer one maxed out crew to everything.
Oh, you're so selfish Toc, think of all the newbs, Toc. Yeah, and I worked my ass off for 7 years to earn something that then became useless. The almost free crew transfers would have been easier to stomach if they let me keep my hard earned crews. |
