WGCB posted just a few minutes ago on its official Facebook page that PainGod is walking away from gaming to retire and “think about his future”. Wonder if this was a spur-of-the-moment thing or if this has been in the works for a while now.
If anything, hopefully this leads to a new team leader being appointed who is more on the side of the players than the Dev team. Wonder if he is actually leaving under his own power or if he’s been ousted by some higher-ups due to the game’s catastrophic collapse since 6.0? Hmmm…

When it says “think about his future”, that typically means 'find something else to do because you suck at this'. Pretty much haha. How he wasn’t fired after 6.0 is beyond me. I guess the higher-ups decided to give him a second chance to see if Cold War could “repair” the damage caused by 6.0 over time but it simply hasn’t happened - Cold War is a failure on pretty much all fronts. It still isn’t any more popular than it was when it was first launched and I think the higher-ups had seen enough by this point. I wonder who is taking his place? |

Or get a dev team that can do a decent port of the PC version.
I was always annoyed we never got any PC 1.0 maps. They just seemed to give up on maps before 6.0 even

Havent touched the game in years, will not touch the game still, but this is good news. Hope the game improves with better direction, some serious talent behind the game that I hope it gets better with.
