Unless there is stuff they haven't mentioned in their limited text all arty will now be BERT... Oh and they will be easier to detect while sitting in the farthest corners of the maps.

Very interested to see how this turns out. From the looks of it, it sounds like it could be a total mess. If anything, this just feels like another āpushā by Jeff Gregg and the scumbag Devs to get players into Cold War. Sadly, Iāve seen a good chunk of veteran players pretty much abandon WW2 for Cold War (which is what I suspect the Devs wanted to happen, as they want Cold War to be the future of WoT here on Console). Trying to make WW2 as unplayable as possible so that players are forced either into Cold War as a ābetterā alternative or into simply quitting the game entirely.
Why the Devs simply havenāt just removed artillery completely is just beyond me. Sure, this wouldnāt be good initially, but the long-term positives would heavily outweigh the short-term consequences.

Do I remember right that a lot of us were so, so opposed to playing on CW back when it first came out? The tank selection isn't particularly dynamic even now, and true vision isn't exactly their most innovative idea either. I guess when people started earning cold war premiums from the season passes, and realised the earning potential of CW in general, they started playong it more. Truthfully I find CW a bit boring or otherwise dull most of the time, but with an Era 3 premium sent my way it'd be rude not to take advantage of it's earning potential, especially when I need to equip tanks in both game modes.

OMG I'm coming back to the game if this is true. I remember asking for this change for AGES. This is actually a good thing, so long as there is a significant reduction in arty damage. The truth is arty is fucking terrible and always has been. I barely managed to claw my WN8 to acceptable levels because it's such a detriment to your win rate. Now you can play arty and actually help your team instead of missing 10 shots in a row and getting no damage or assists. As for spotting, I hope it will make counter battery easier. I always thought it was harder to spot shell tracers so I hope they have a big cloud of smoke or something to make that easier, or just light them up on the map when they fire so you always know where they are and what position they are in.

Your experience is not universal. Arty was very broken and very easy to influence games with.

They are practically useless luck cannons besides the obviously broken shit like the Sexton I(US) and the M53/M55. People tend to have very negative bias because of those lucky shots that land perfectly on their engine deck but never remember the 4 shots that went long or short or off the map entirely. There's also a few maps where arty is completely screwed like Himmelsdorf. EDIT: I played 3547 games in arty as it turns out. My stats are still there which I didn't expect.

The shitty "tutorial" that new players see when they first start the game up isn't even in WW2 anymore - it's Cold War. And when they're done the joke of a tutorial, they're dumped not into WW2 - but into the Cold War mode. It really is despicable. When can the Devs just admit they've fucked up with Cold War and no longer artificially inflate numbers to make it look better than it actually is? All they're doing is polishing a turd.

Yeah that rarely works well on moving targets on console. Plus I think the M1 is actually punching below it's weight on top of that. Lower era targets.

I have seen Plucky pen the upper plate of a Maus with T92 AP for 100% of it's health twice in one match. I think arty is 40% luck and 60% just knowing how to use it. Still a healthy % being luck based, but the only thing really luck based on arty was their accuracy and that only really mattered sometimes. Also, how dare you diss Himmels arty matches! Playing shotgun was the best way to play arty.

Last I played was running the CGC at like 2 am wasted out of my mind dropping nukes on folks. That was before the Cold War split. Kinda sad I won't be able to do that anymore, but I don't play anyway so doesn't matter.

"I have seen one thing happen one time and never noticed 9.9999/10 times that it failed" I also managed to one shot two Waffle E-100's with the CGC on port which basically won the game. That was a miracle.
