Many of you were waiting for this message to come. Today we are informing you about the the closure of the Forum, when and how it's going to happen, and what alternative there is.
The forum will be made "read only" on the 15th April 2022
The closure of the forum will be on the 16th May 2022.
Why are the Forums closing?
Let's talk about some data first.
After more than 11 years online, the forum has a total of approximately 200,000 registered members. This may sound like a large community, but currently on any given day, only about 200 players (registered members) visit the forums. To compare, our Discord channel has 300 - 1.000 unique visitors per day and the subreddit has an average of 2.500 unique members / visitors per day.
The forums require high-maintenance (in short, a lot of moderation) and while some players come for information and to engage, the overwhelming tone is a “venting ground” which doesn’t help the players or the development team, because it's really (really!) hard to measure which features have a good impact and enrich our game when practically everything is "bad". We know that not every change to the game is a success and yes we want player input but we also want want to make this as constructive and comprehensive as possible.
That said, our main tool for direct interaction in the future will be Discord. But not only that, you will be still able to reach us on Facebook, Twitter and (the community driven) Subreddit.
Where will you find us in the future?

Discord is a free-easy-to-use tool that allows you to connect in real-time with likeminded people. The user interface is build for both desktop and mobile and works flawlessly. We have a ton of dedicated channels for discussions for video tutorials, tips and guides, commander discussions, equipment discussions and tank discussions. You also have the ability to ask questions directly to the development team and interact with the community in several different other channels. It surely is a more direct approach but it will give you the feeling of having someone sitting on the other side of the table when talking to someone.
It will be very easy for you to spot members of the World of Tanks Console staff. If you have a question, you can ask us directly and we will make sure to give you an answer!
Where can we you find Announcements or important informations?
Just like the forum we have a dedicated news section on our Discord where we share all the latest announcements, maintenance times or portal publications. We also have automated bots that share new youtube videos automatically in the discord, or inform you when we started an official Stream.
And what about Reddit?
Our Community driven subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanksConsole/) currently has approximately 19 000 members. We are working closely with their moderation team to ensure that the community is up to date with the latest announcements, maintenance times or portal publications.
What will happen with my Beta tester role?
Don't worry, we will create two special roles to recognize your contribution to the community!
A special Beta tester role for everybody who participated in the Beta.
A special "Forum veteran" role for everyone with more than 1000 posts.
While we understand this may not be the news you would like to hear, we are hopeful that with your help we can bring new and veteran players together in one place to better serve our Communities' interests as a whole.

I don't know how I got so attached to that forum but I am going to miss it. I have only played 16 battles since 6.0 dropped but still have that forum pinned and visit it daily just to keep tabs. Gonna have to give the game a shot again and see if it's for me these days.

I don't know how I got so attached to that forum but I am going to miss it. I have only played 16 battles since 6.0 dropped but still have that forum pinned and visit it daily just to keep tabs. Gonna have to give the game a shot again and see if it's for me these days. It used to be a fun place. Moderation was light and trended towards warnings in threads that started to go sideways by SecndChance and Lady O. They would remind folks to be civil and stay on topic without locking threads or vaporizing posts. There were plenty of characters in the early days of the forum that were both funny and informative. I personally found it easy to burn multiple hours a day there interacting with folks |

The forum sees way more traffic than that ass hat snowflake for a hun stated. He limited the forum to logged in members and included guests on the other two. As I'm typing this there are 1766 users on the forum and only 15 of us are logged in while there are 114 total on reddit. But I digress, you are right. They banned way too many good folks more than a few for nothing, ignored and then scapegoated the forum for their incompetence, left the forum full of trolls, and so on.

One of the worst things that happened to the forum was community ambassadors. Regardless of what their intentions were, the ambassadors look like sycophants and brown nosers when they attempt to defend the indefensible.
Edit: I should clarify some here. Not all CA’s were/are sycophant/brown nosers but the ones who are make it look like all are that way.

I’m quite sure whom you are referring to and the poll that Arrowsmith started was definitely torpedoed by an “Ambassador” that I’ll refrain from naming. It’s one of the things that really pushed me to realize that the Official Forum was so heavily moderated that there was nothing much of value there for me any more. WG’s statement regarding the closure, was just the final insult. To say that it was a toxic community might be arguable, but if it was, it was their own policies that created the problem. I will say that Fusion was not afraid to say what he thought, and I still have a lot of respect for him. |

Shit, getting banned really doesn’t mean much anymore. I’d just be bummed if I got banned for something like talking about War Thunder. I’ve toyed with the idea of going back just to tell the Mods to F. Off. Make it an epic rant like when KillerDNA blew up. Now that’s some worthy banning fodder. |

There was a short lived thread about Kitty yesterday, got deleted last night. In the first 10 or so comments one of his friends had reached out to him and he confirmed that someone reported him for saying he wished he had picked WT over WOT in the Eight years thread.
How odd a certain someone showed back up and now threads are being locked, deleted, and folks are getting banned. I hope more folks drift over here sooner than later.

Tried Discord, but hated it. The Bunker looks like the best replacement for the forum available. I hope more people start using it as the shutdown date for the forum gets closer and after it is gone.
