You'll have to forgive me if I sound like I live in ignorance of many Free to Play game's main blemishes - it's because I do! But there is an absolute myriad of things that never get confirmed or denied officially (probably because it's said by insane fug-nuggets so it's a huge waste of time), such as some of the classic rigged RNG that plenty of people in my parties claim to actually happen, whether it's to save someone playing like an absolute moron or to balance out someone that is a little too good a shot.
Or whether or not premium tanks get silently buffed when on-sale and tuned down when off-sale.
There's so much that has been said about the reasoning behind some updates too, because let's face it, even the reasons we're given raise more questions than they answer, which themselves get answered "soon".
Fascinating little mixture that brings these up isn't it? From the delusional that believe they can do no wrong, to the cold-shoulder we get on transparency from the staff, it's perhaps just the right cocktail for rumors, misinformation, and mistakes!
Has it been worse elsewhere?

Has it been worse elsewhere? Great question. I'm not that familiar with any other games, but I always wondered about mercy rolls even though WG denied they exist. With the recent revelation regarding reduced damage for new players in the last update without telling anyone it makes me wonder about those mercy rolls ever more.

I'm always against conspiracy stuff without proof. It's really easy to see things that aren't there because humans are amazing at finding patterns. I'd argue on the forum for hours about it. Correlation doesn't mean causation. Because your team had the most bounces and misses doesn't prove that the game picked you to lose.
But over time I've noticed shady things WG has done in the background that eventually come up. Like the 6-8 inch armor gap between the turret and hull on T92E2 that they swore wasn't there but fixed in an update. Or how they rigged the whole marks of excellence system with their "fudge factor" based on what tanks were playing what map. Or how they changed the stats of the Fury behind the scenes to the PC Fury stats without telling anyone, then denying the stats had changed. The reduced damage thing is even worse.
I guess it boils down to they've done enough shady crap over the years to degrade my opinion of them. So I'm less inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.
It seems like the conspiracy is in this game a bit more than others just because of how much statistical information is available, and anyone with a small amount of math knowledge can draw conclusions from certain observations. It's very difficult to prove a negative even if it's true, and generally that leads to the rule that the burden of prove is on the person proposing the theory. The effort it takes to disprove a conspiracy theory is an order of magnitude higher than it takes to disprove one. But when you do a bunch of shady crap in the background, it just makes people trust you less.
Emotions also play into it since this is a game built on making money off frustration. The more frustrated you get the more likely you're going to blame the game itself. I've always put forward that the game doesn't need to be rigged by some complex equation controlling things. It's rigged just how it is set up. It is set up to dilute your talent enough that your personal contribution to the game is limited. Your ability to influence the game is limited by your teammates and the skill of your opponents. Then it's randomized by the maps you play and how your tanks match up with the others in the game on those maps.
The game setup is such that it will vary between having a high impact if you picked the right tank for the map and team, to a low impact if you picked a poor one. That limit is what causes the frustration. They do decide the map rotation, so that is the biggest "rigging" of the game. I feel like they've been very open and honest about how the biggest way they rig the game, it's just that people don't see it as rigging.
So basically the game is rigged with how it's set up from the beginning. I don't rule out any shady stuff behind the scenes anymore with what we've seen over the years. It's more likely as we've learned more about the game. It just feels to me that the biggest rigging of the game is in plain sight.

Well tin foil hat on.. As soon as I load consumables l have a bad game. As soon as I turn on boosters l get smashed quickly. As soon as I use Premium Ammo l miss , bounce or low role. As soon as I pick ANY nonPMM tank l get bottom Tier

Easier to consider their incompetence as the reason, rather than an outright conspiracy.

It used to be easy to dismiss anyone that claimed Wargames made the game work against them. Whatever problem they were having could be explained by them not understanding the game mechanics, bad RNG, etc. because everyone had to play using the same rules and Wargames couldn’t change one thing for one person without changing it for everyone. Then Wargames admitted that they did their idiotic “test” of a way to help new players by making them take less damage, proving they can in fact change the game rules for particular groups of players. So now even though the majority of conspiracy claims can and should still be mocked they have to be looked at first to make sure Wargames hasn’t fucked something else up.

Here's my conspiracy. It's more for wows but I'm sure it applies to wot too:
Your first 10-20 games after coming back on a break give you better RNG than games that you are given after playing daily.
After a break my shots actually land where they are supposed to more frequwntly and enemies die eaaier/seem less skilled.
While daily playing it seems like the harder I try the worse it gets. The enemy always manages to dodge my shells oe they go all around the enemy ship instead. Fires and flooding never happen, and I seem to face unicum opponents more frequently.
But I'm sure it's just me.
