Sounds from Mouse that its a light cruiser with good guns. Evidently the armour leaves much to be desired for a German cruiser.
I doubt you'd have issues though so it would probably be worth it.

Not needing IFHE is a plus to me, and I actually enjoyed Nurnberg except for being a dev strike waiting to happen. I thought Mainz might be fun because it's a bit tankier than Nurnberg. But...I dunno. LWM and Flamu both speak favorably of it, so I might have to pick one up.

I like it. The armor is workable (CL standard) but the guns are murderous. 6 second reload with German HE and AP, and good 6km torps. She’s strong on AA, not too bad on agility, and has the infamous German hydro.
Downsides are slowish turrets, no heal, and mediocre concealment.
She’s a hoot to play and that built-in IFHE is brutal. She is going to be the bane of any spotted DD and can rain fire like few others.
