Back when Forza 5 was cool I helped set up a racing league with some friends, we'd all get together one evening (UK time) and race against each other. I came up with restrictions so it was as fair as possible and people could choose whatever car they wanted as long as it fit withing the regs, we had set cars for one race which we'd use every race and then a 2nd race would be car types chosen by the loser from the week before (US retro muscle, European, 70's F1, Indy Car, and others).
If theres enough interest I'd be more than happy to help run it. It used to be loads of fun racing at famous tracks with actual points on the line, could even do a small trophy (to be posted to the winner) to aim for?
Great idea for the petrol heads. I bought Forza 4 on the 360 but then discovered Gran Turismo 5. I spent countless hours on that, tuning and getting things perfect. I bought Gran Turismo sport which was a let down and Forza 6 and Project Cars one and 2 but didn't bother buying Forza motorsport 7 but not because it was bad(I didn't try it) but because I no longer had the patience to put the effort in. Racing is very time consuming and very tiring.
I used to enjoy Top Gear a bit and recently bought the GT(Grand Tour) video game which was cheap as chips. Great game concept but very disappointed by the driving experience. All 3rd person view with dynamic camera. Most of it's FMV though with Clarkson and the crew moving through the GT episodes.
10 years ago, I would have said hell yeah at your idea but sadly I no longer have the mental stamina or the setup to be able to be competitive, not to mention the timezone differences but I stand by my opening comment of great idea and hope you have some interest.
PS Screw MS and Sony for enforcing licensing of controllers on consoles which rendered my perfectly adequate G27 wheel, H shifter and pedals useless for consoles.
