Remember a few years ago when the game was such a big meme? In some ways it was warranted, perhaps even unavoidable, but after watching the Internet Historian give a run over of what happened to the games development from there on out, I'm actually kind of finding myself proud of a developer I barely even know. It's actually amazing to see a game company actually knuckle down on the criticisms of the game even after such a PR disaster. If you've got 53:51 minutes to spare this is a really good video to watch. Or you can see it in parts, it's up to you.
Ok I didn't realise there was a fanfic at the end you can skip that.

I did buy this game when it first came out and I historically have really enjoyed space exploration sims/RPGs/Trading games but found No man's sky to be rather tedious with no backstory or understanding of who I was, how I got there or purpose of exploring endless worlds which although they were inhabited with randomish flora and fauna, some intelligent species and different coloured landscapes of varying temperatures, every one of them felt the same. IIRC I named a couple of systems, flew around for about 10 hours, got bored and didn't bother coming back.
