Official forum off topic archive - 20 pages (Final)

So as of today, the backdoor has been completely plugged and/or the off topic forum itself has been wiped clean. This archive is now all that is left. For a brief bit of history leading up to this, here are some posts.

21st December 2019

Summary: Rai Announces she had been doing forum cleanup for the past couple of days before the post. Several posts were locked, old or dead threads being the main target.

She also announces that some sections would be permanently closed so as to, and I quote; "centralise the conversation on tanks" and to "minimise the clutter". Maybe the latter would've been more accurate, because in my time archiving what I could of the off topic forum, there were actually a good few tank topics in there. Was it used as a bin? Or were those topics just created in the wrong place? Both? Neither? Who knows really.


3rd January 2020

Summary: I notice a few missing subforums, and inquire about the broken path to off topic. As it turns out, Rai missed a spot, and Max gave her a small reminder. Without any clarity given on whether or not this meant no more Off Topic or just a forum wide lock, I assumed the worst and archived the 20 pages you see now.


6th January 2020

Summary: I proceeded to try to further archive the Off Topic forum when I was told by the engine "Sorry, we couldn't find that!", although the damning message is remedied somewhat with an immediate popup from the internet archive, so at least in that way those looking for the off topic forum can at least find it in some way, to some amount.

So naturally I go back to the thread inquiring about the broken link, effectively press F to pay respects and basically finish up this post edit.


Again for anyone who frequented off topic, I apologise. If I had known about the forum cleanup and it's intended targets I'd have kept quiet.

But I do hope that whatever information remains here is of some use, some nostalgia, or some laughs.

As I was told by the staff, they intended to get rid of it during their forum cleanup.

I was unaware of this and thought Off Topic being gone was a case of broken links, so in highlighting that it could still be accessed via google, I effectively, as far as I know, am responsible for dooming the forum. It's only right I try to archive as much as possible.

Tanks community is dead in the water. Like arty at the end of a match. We all called it when the mods became cheap labour that didn't care. Heck, they couldn't even understand memes or jokes. Pathetic really.
