I was just thinking about this. The forum and shout box hasn't seemed as active lately. That's good and fine. People are busy. But I thought this could be an opportunity to catch up. What games are you playing? What are you watching? Hobbies? Whatever you feel comfortable sharing.

I mainly just play Destiny 2. I've been through some of the Halo games once. I started Halo CE again yesterday. I died a lot less with it. But the camera control is a real pain. I think it does get better in the next game.
I started watching Oresuki. It's a pretty funny anime. I think I'm up to episode 5 now. I also started Azur Lane, but gave up on that.
This is my favorite time of the year because of the holidays and usually get to see family I haven't seen in awhile. My brother lives on the opposite side of the country. He's coming to visit in a few weeks. I'm looking forward to all that.

I've been very busy this past week, but I have found time for Overwatch, Gmod prop hunt (on PC), and a bit of World of Tanks.
I am slowly getting back into streaming and at the moment I'm fucking chuffed over finally getting my elgato HD 60 to work aaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
I've been able to take a little bit more pride in my own appearance lately as well. Not that I've gotten much, if any thinner but I've been able to look at myself and think "DAAAMN BOI HE-"and I'm gonna shut up there.
I've been feeling considerably better after letting my frustration out.

Trying to get Christmas stuff done early and figure out what we are doing with the tree this year.
Other distractions have kept me from gaming. Not played anything for a couple weeks.
Looking forward to when my oldest opens his Switch on Christmas so I can take it from him and play some games lol.

Just finished The Outer Worlds. It has a fantastic story, I just wish you were able to play after beating the final mission and get a post credits version of the world based on your choices. Unfortunately it just reloads you back to your most recent save before the credits rolled.
Other than that, the BFV Pacific DLC isn't bad but is really sparse in content. MHW just released more DLC but I haven't played that recently.
I'm getting back into Three Houses to finish my last 2 playthroughs of the other campaigns. Then I get to do all 4 again as the female version of the MC, and then after that beat the game again without using a NG+ file on the hardest difficulty to get the custom title screen.
Those won't be for a considerable amount of time though, as I'm 190 hours in and not even halfway through playthrough 3/9.
Oh, and I've been playing tanks again on and off. Not grinding anything anymore though, I don't have the patience to deal with shitty stock tanks and no desire to spend money on the game to convert XP.

Getting rejected by a course regarding something I'm passionate about twice in a row, further entering the realms of degeneracy by learning Japanese and French. The added French will either kill off my last shreds of masculinity or turn my accent to near pornstar levels idk. As you can see I'm *all* about being an alpha male. Maybe I'll actually get a license this year. For what reason? To drive my dad's or sister's car into a ditch probably. Might just self teach on the whole programming front with books seeing as college could very well keep me waiting forever. As for socializing I've toyed with the idea of going to a bar alone, getting shitfaced and seeing what happens but I'll probably not actually get that shitfaced. Just generally trying to find find happiness and the like as per usual but language learning is doing exceptionally well in keeping me sane, and I've not been completely despising myself! Yeah I know, "Woah steady on Ash you might actually fucking achieve a dream of yours at this rate with the way your mood is improving!", I get it.

Busy finishing the end of the year with customers, executing new 2020 programs with customers, coordinating customer meetings and entertainment for a large show in Vegas in March, heading to product training next week, ice fishing, visiting with sons, trying to get outside and exercise when the temps allow it and generally catching my breath for a busy 2020.

I've been chilling recently because my back is playing up loads recently, I've gotten addicted to Astroneer but I'll be getting back into tanks soon as well.
As for hobbies, I've made a friend a knife using a 20mm casing from one of the guns that was on HMS Ocean as a handle. Came out so well his mates want one too. Still playing with resin and doing another river table when the weather is a bit better as I've got no shed or garage.

Awhile back I went and saw Big Boy 4014 in person when it went through Coffeyville! I figured it was a once in a lifetime event to see the biggest steam engine in person. Will never forget the sound of that whistle or the feel of the heat coming off of it 3 feet away. It was pretty cool!
Also been really trying to actually learn a song on my banjo. Had it about 3 years now and been practicing on an off for a little over a year. Got a book for Christmas and really picking it up now. I basicly have the song Boil them Cabbage Down figured out and memorized, just working on making it smooth and sound good right now. Long ways from the next Earl Scruggs but I'm doing better than I was 3 months ago.

Long ways from the next Earl Scruggs but I'm doing better than I was 3 months ago. Something about the old engines, the smell and sound of steam. When trains had character. The last one I rode on was in 2007 but they don't run them any more in this neck of the woods due to fire risk and no doubt expense of maintaining. Banjo eh? I know very little about Banjos except my parents mates who were basically family, had one of their parents who would bring it out at parties and it's quite a lively instrument. A few instruments used to come out at those parties, mostly guitar and banjo. Scruggs was an old school 5 string banjoist and I do believe he's the chap that can be heard picking away at the strings at the beginning of every Beverly Hillbillies TV show episode and may have even wrote the theme song. Ever listened to Bela Fleck? I'm sure you have. He was influenced by Scruggs. He's worked the banjo into a few different genres including jazz, pop and classical and it's quite impressive. He has some tutorials on youtube too which might be worth a look if you haven't seen them.

Most of what I know about the banjo is what I learned from a documentry called "Give me the Banjo" narrated by Steve Martin. Last time I saw it, it was on Vudu. You might check it out, not only is it full of banjo history but it also introduced me to alot of musicians to listen to also (Bela Fleck shows up in it too).

Thanks - I find history and cultural anthropology interesting so it's bound to offer some insight. I am not a fan of bluegrass generally and know next to nothing about the banjo instrument. Mark Twain liked the Banjo: "When you want genuine music -- music that will come right home to you like a bad quarter, suffuse your system like strychnine whisky, go right through you like Brandreth's pills, ramify your whole constitution like the measles, and break out on your hide like the pin-feather pimples on a picked goose, -- when you want all this, just smash your piano, and invoke the glory-beaming banjo!" I'll keep an eye out for the documentary, although i'll probably never learn to play one, I'm bound to learn something. I'll keep an eye out for the documentary.
