My friend was grinding a tier 3 so I pulled a 5 skill crew out of the T14 and put it in the locust. Now I don't want to take it out. This thing is a riot. I think it just became my new American crew trainer.
So ... I plan on optics for sure, but what other equipment would you guys recommend?

Locust doesn't get a rammer. I guess it's going to be vents, optics and gld. There really doesn't seem to be any better options. Oh well. Locust appreciation thread!

I can't remember what mine has. I think it's optics, vents and the improved suspension (I was low on silver and found myself driving over short cliffs and dying a little too often for comfort). It is great fun. Especially in tier V games, where they ignore you and you can just needle T-34s to death. I once managed to kill an SU-85 because he ignored me whilst I was on higher elevation. I just kept overmatching rounds into his roof.

Suspension is a good choice -- the speed will cause an issue if you go over a bump and track yourself. (Run suspension on my Pz 1C and MT-25 for that reason.)

If it helps, I also have a cool little strategy for playing on Erlenberg with it. Outfitted with optics, drive over the bridge in the north or south onto the enemy's riverbank, make a dash along the path to the ford at the other end of the river, and back onto the friendly bank. You'll light up like nine or ten targets on your first pass, and if you're quick enough and don't crash you'll get through unscathed. Rinse and repeat. I think my record was three passes before the whole enemy team was dead. On the second or third pass the enemy will be whittled down a bit and you can go hunting and picking off stragglers. I think the Locust is the only tank I like getting Erlenberg on.

I like to take it under the bluffs on Pacific Island, climb, spot, back away, kill cripples, then zoom middle. This tank needs a rebel yell since it garners Confederates like a cannon at Picket's charge. Zoom, Zoom, up the kilt, and gone.

Cool, thanks. Make it three. Really on little fast tanks suspension is a great help as it also buffs track HP. And we all know a tracked light is a dead light

If I'm in a tier 3 match, I always check to see if any/how many locust are on the reds...I consider these, and the 127s, the hardest to deal with at that tier. I do the same with Matildas at tier 4. I've never run equipment on my Locust...this thread is causing me to reevaluate.

It is worth it considering how little equipment costs at tier III in comparison to on a tier VIII or X.

I used to get rammed all the time and now it helps when I either make a wrong turn and run into a bigger tank or someone in another light tries to ram me. I also think suspension is a good choice.

Right now the Locust and MT25 are my favorite lights just for their Zippy-ness. On the Locust I am running optics, vents, and suspension on mine and use it as my US crew trainer.

I'm reconsidering spall liner and suspension now because ramming is a viable tactic with this beast for some opponents.

Optics and vents for sure. I've also used GLD—great for lower tier games and generally active kick-assery, and camo net—great for higher tier games and passive scouting.

I believe I have coated optics, vents and I believe GLD on mine.
It really is a great little tank. It has an amazing camo rating on it too. I've been stuck in Tier V matches and I can passive scout like a pro with it. It is actually very good training on how to drive light tanks.

Got my one and only Kolobanov's in my Locust. Love this little monster. Was one shell away from a Fadin's in that game too...

I have camo and binocs on mine. It is the first true passive scout. The only one that is better is the T-15. Find a bush and spot. You will rack up the spotting damage quick, then in the second half, use your speed to start cleaning up.

I have the chrome one for ps4 and it is a great little tank. I'm considering buying the tech tree one just for another trainer. I run vents coated optics and suspension on mine. It's my yolo tank and I can not afford to be stopped for a split second.
