Anyone else get ghost shells regularly? I was playing my shiny new Yamato today. I had 3 cruisers sit broadside, 2 of them reversing, to me within 8 km's and I fired 10 full broadsides against them. At least half of the shells splashed into the water either fully behind the ship without registering as a hit at all, or the shells disappeared into the model of the ship and the splash occured underneath it, for 0 damage or a registered hit. I know because I had my spotter plane active and could see the water behind the ship.
In any case, I was HE spammed to death, doing less that 60,000 damage, registering 11 overpens and 20 hits on roughly 100 shells fired. Granted I am not running a 100% crew, but I didnt think that had anything to do with my shells ability to actually impact a target, only the RNG involved with dispersion. I bounced 7 shells off a Kaga from 15km's right before that.

I just had 4 0damage penetrations against a fully broadside French tier 10 BB from 7 km's.

I've honestly never heard of ghost shells on Warships before.

GK got hung up on an island 6km's in front of me, he had 6,000 health left and was sailing at about 8 knots. Fired both front turrets roughly 2 meters above the waterline, all 6 shells hit the water just before reaching his ship, directly in line with him. He healed up while I was reloading and killed me with fires from his secondaries.
On that note I leave this game for a while. Hopefully you gentlemen have better luck than me. I have never been so comprehensively screwed game after game by RNG in any game I have ever played thus far.

Its got to do with the client server and what my PC actually shows, from the sounds of it. The ship is in an entirely different location from what my screen shows, so my shell passes through the enemy ship about 10 feet below the B turret on my screen, but the server has the target ship several lengths in front of where they actually show on my screen, or they maneuvered out of the way, but were still showing on my screen as maintaining the same course and speed.
Frustrating to say the least

Its hard for me to say. The laptop I'm using is ao old it doesn't animate explosions or smoke trails from funnels making gameplay kinda difficult.

Down to gun traverse and concealment (even without 50%-effect CE). 0-damage penetration ribbons with AP are my major annoyance. My accuracy is trash enough, don't fucking tease me when I do land hits, game. Neither have I until the last update. I wish I had replays enabled. They are saved automatically now. There is a folder called replays. I don't know how many are stored though. According to my folder, last 30 battles. How do you actually access and watch replays though? My WOWS game folder just has a replays folder full of unrecognised filetype.

0 damage penetrations are exceedingly annoying in Yamato, since 85% of the time you only get use your front 2 turrets, and the guns are the only real defining feature of the ship. You fire 6 shells, miss 5 due to random dispersion and have one as a 0 damage pen. I've hit 2 0 damage pens in a 6 round broadside in Yamato in the first few games.
For a ship that relies so heavily on her guns, I definitely expected a much more reliable damage dealing ability. 3 2 gun salvos on a broadside heavy cruiser 10km's away yielded 5 overpens and 2 0 damage pens. In 1 minute and 30 seconds for the 3 salvos he dealt ~27,000 damage equivalent in fires and HE pen damage, probably more since his first single shell hit lit a fire on a poorly aimed salvo that flew high over my bow, except the one random shell that clipped the superstructure and light a fire.

I was once about to be finished off by a Republique while in the Edinburgh as it rounded a corner. So I turned my guns, let loose my 12-gun salvo first and landed 10 hits on his bow armour, all full penetrations.
I dealt 2k damage, meaning I had eight 0 damage penetration ribbons. (British 152mm AP has max damage around 3k, so 1k per shell per full penetration)
Of course, I was nuked. Like, I wouldn't have killed it or anything, but neutering a 10k parting gift all the way down to two pissing thousand was deeply irritating.
