How do you play it without smoke? Is it like a light cruiser? Do I want it? I got it from a free crate and have no idea what to do with it.

I have it and play it occasionally in coop. It’s actually better in random where the average player doesn’t have Godlike awareness and aim.
In Co-op I play it as an assasin of CVs and BBs along the back line by speed boosting to the east or west edge and avoiding contact until in the enemy rear. You have zero armor and modules (especially engine and steering) get knocked out by every hit including when a seagull craps on you.
Seriously, the only thing she has going for her is speed. Period. If you can team up with a good smoke source, your guns and torps can do serious work but always be ready to run.
I would hang-on to it as it is in serious need of buffs and even WG has admitted it isn’t living up to expectations. If they add smoke she becomes a much more serious threat.
