So, the internet seems to have fairly mixed opinions of this issue. Some say factory reset, some say it's the hard drive going bad, it's a faulty Xbox entirely etc.
Have any of you experienced this issue at all? It's happened on occasion to me before and it was no big deal, but I've quite literally had to do it 5 times today alone, and have consequently had to do the same mission as many times over in RDR2 since it's erroring out halfway through the mission and won't let me save even manually.
If you have encountered and fixed the issue what did you do? It's going to drive me crazy at this point.

I haven't had it ask me to delete saves, but on some games I have tried to play, it brings up a window about saving it to the cloud. I'm just going off on a guess here, but wondering if your cloud storage is full? I wondered if this link might help with that. support.xbox.com/en-US/games/game-setup/cloud-game-saves-faq

What local saves? As far as I know, the only saves that you should have, internet permitting, is cloud saves on the xbox one, it's just that unless you look such info up or own more than ine xbox, it won't be abundantly clear.
Oh I see now. Well knowing that save files sync over via cloud and stuff, it might be worth doing as it says? Best to test if your saves are in the cloud first though.

I have cleared the local saves, each time I do it runs fine for about 10 minutes than pops the error saying I need to clear them again. Easiest solution I've found is taking my Xbox off the internet, as it seems to be an issue with them talking to the cloud. I think LT might be onto something with my cloud storage being full, but they make it a giant pain in the ass to manage that since it seems like you have to still have the game installed to delete the cloud saves, and anything I have installed I generally still play.

The reason I thought that is because I thought it might work similar to icloud and I've gotten alerts in the last few days saying my icloud is almost full. I figured that's why it's prompting you to delete some stuff.

So it can't update the cloud save, and consequently won't let me save locally for some reason. It's like the cloud can't keep up with how often the game autosaves or something. I'll have to go through my old games and see if there is anything I can delete that I don't play anymore.

So, for future reference if anyone has this issue.
Moving everything, and I mean literally everything including all my apps, to my external hard drive seemed to fix the issue. I have no idea why, considering RDR2 was already saved to my external drive, but a fix is a fix and I'm glad I don't have to disconnect from the internet to play single player games again.

Glad you got that figured out. I didn't know you could do that. I bet mine won't work since it won't open in Windows 10.

So an update: The issue came back. I have even reset my console 3 times now. Though I believe I have finally figured out what the issue is.
I'm pretty sure my external HDD is failing and going into a read-only mode. I am unable to move games off of it without it failing after moving literally .1% each time I resume the transfer. It also has a hell of a time when trying to install games to it, failing multiple times despite not dropping an internet connection, though it will eventually finish the install after manually resuming the install multiple times.
I found this out as I copied BFV from my external HDD to my internal, then disconnected the external and the issue hasn't returned in over a day of playing, which is the longest stretch so far. It was failing and prompting the error after about 15 minutes maximum before, even after a full console reset.
I wanted to keep this updated so that If this happens to anyone here they can troubleshoot what's causing the issue.
