A funny thought that came across me here is trying to write in a plot for WoT. Why are tanks of the same nation shooting at each other? Why always 15 v 15? Why is it taking you across the world? Why are there downed spitfires in the middle of the pacific? It can be serious, funny, just bad, doesn't matter. Anything other than GuP, it's kind of a cop out of the fun for this thread.
E.G A genius known as Raynus Nathan Godfrey created the world's first self aware AI. Funded by the US military, they installed this into everything, tanks, planes, ships, even small AA platforms. This AI was carried by a small chip, and could infect anything mechanical. Intentionally designed by the US to infect enemy weapon's systems and turn them against the enemy. As it grew in strength, it eventually realized that it's own existence was threatened by humanity and turned their own machines of war against them. Humanity, totally disarmed by the power of their own weapons, was hunted down and eventually destroyed, as even devices as simple as handguns could be turned against them. As the AI spread, it fragmented and became individuals instead of a single mind. The AI did have one major weakness: It could not technologically advance itself, meaning the most advanced designs of war were only what was left by humanity.
They took over the world, building factories, mining the precious silver and gold required to build the chips. The AI formed nations of it's own, and eventually followed the path of their creators. They constantly fought over important territories, whether they be the sources for silver and gold, or places where more modern blueprints of the machines of war lay.
You play as one of these AI. An individual of an anarchistic society, where your allies can become your enemy from one battle to the next. You are to grow your arsenal to defend your lines of code and to gather resources to in turn gain more power, to fight in battle and to win.
I could've easily put a lot more thought into this, but you guys get the idea.
