So this morning rather than play tanks, I decided to go on the Xbox One version of forza horizon 2, which I have found to be worth the replay having come from the 360 version. Because I loved the Ridge Racer series in the past so much, I decided to make a design based off of the livery found on a racing team in that universe, R.T Solvalou.
To give a bit of background, Ridge Racer is an arcade racing series made by Namco, or their more recent alias, Namco Bandai, that's just straight up racing, albeit in a completely unrealistic way, especially in the drift mechanics (tap brake to drift around a corner at any speed basically). From what I remember this series was originally born in the arcades having a debut on Playstation 1 later.
So now down to the design. This design I made for the 2003 Ferrari Challenge Stradale, a car you can get as soon as you finish your first showcase event in game. The livery has a lot in common with my reference picture, which I'll post below, with some slight changes for the sake of legibility for some text vinyls. It's got the stripes, the logo, number, the odd reference to a namco title, and the flag from the Real Racing Roots 99 Grand Prix from Ridge Racer type 4.
As I discovered while grabbing the reference images again, it appears this isn't the only take on a ridge racer car design out there, but I don't think I did too bad. It's my first design in a long time.
