I regret ever selling this tank. It's frustrating when you get thrown into tier 5 matchups (even though you can still pen some tanks), but when you're top tier? The best way to put it into perspective is a more mobile Churchill III with poor armor, less health, and roughly the same DPM (with more gun depression). The tier 6 looks really good on paper. I think I might enjoy this grind.

The Ke-Ho isn't bad either, but I will say though, the Japanese medium line punishes hard for mistakes, you might find great difficulty in using the Chi-Ri along the way but it should be noted that all of these mediums aren't the fastest and it's obvious sacrifices were made for the extra DPM over other mediums. Best of luck.

It's been quite a while since I played it, but the tier 6 in the Japanese medium line felt like playing the tier 5 again but having to see 8s. The Chi-Ri is a fantastic vehicle once you get the autoloader, and you can still mount a gun rammer on it for the reload buff which makes it just that much better. I was unimpressed by the STA-1, and it felt totally average. I, however, enjoyed the Type 61 quite a bit. The tier 10 is worth the grind if you plan on getting there. The STB-1 is the only tier 10 I ever consistently had fun in when playing it. The turret is troll AF and the gun handles extremely well. Some people say the accuracy makes them hate it, but that thing was a snapshotting beast when I played it.

I really enjoyed the STA-1, but it became extremely redundant with the introduction of the STA-2 which is better in almost every way. As DW said, the Type 61 was enjoyable and the STB-1 is a really fun tank to play.

I smell Japanese bias and this is coming from someone who's 3 marked the Chi-Ri.

I'd rather be in that thing than a Comet or a T20, but I'd always rather be in a Tiger or T29. I probably got lucky in the STB-1, but I never really had an issue with the gun's accuracy. It was also my only tier 10 medium, so I had nothing to compare it to. I'm sure others are better in that regard, but it performed well enough for me. Full accuracy skills build with food and equipment was what I ran, no idea how much of an impact that made. I couldn't win a match in that thing to save my life though, I can tell you that. My WR in the STB is probably something like 50% at best.

On paper, it's got the second highest tier 6 medium pen for tech tree tanks.
