This is just a suggestion, but I think it would be good to make the forum readable for members only. The only downside that comes to mind is members who want to read posts, but not sign in at that time. I've noticed a couple of recent posts having many more views than ones on the same day. With the nature of the discussion, I couldn't help but think of the reasons why that might be. I don't think I need to explain that to any of you. I've also recently seen some rude comments on another forum directed at a member here and telling them to leave all that stuff at the bunker. I don't think the person who said it is a member. Anyway, I might be the only one who thinks this way and there might be more reasons I don't know of to keep it readable to non-members.

Problem is the people over on the idiot forum believe what they are told about the Bunker by brown nosers like Soviet or cockwombles like King North Tx. They have somehow got it into their heads that all we do here is slate the game purely by seeing the shitbox at the bottom.
It doesnt occur to them to check out things like the historical discussions or the other games section. This is a place where we can and do discuss other games, other topics, let our banter between the UK and US go along without snowflakes becoming offended for no particular reason.
The idiots dont like The Bunker because they cant report opinions that dont fall in line with theirs and they will get shouted down when they spread misinformation.

Good suggestion, A few people (Not naming anyone) will screenshot our shoutbox and link threads to moderators on the WOT and now most likely legends forum. Second chance even told me in a xbla conversation that WGCB and now possibly WGSP lurk on the bunker. Making things read only may help combat this.

The main reason it is available to read by guests is, despite our reputation, there is good info to be found here. People may not want to partake in the banter we have here but appreciate the info. Also I don't feel we have anything to hide. If people have nothing better to do than spend their time lurking here to pass things on to WG or have a moan about us, well, I just feel a little sad for them. However, this forum was made with you guys in mind and if it turns out that more people would prefer it to be read only for members then I can easily change it.  I'll make a poll for it now. |

I guess my thinking on this is that they would be free to talk without thinking it is being scrutinized by non-members and used against them in other places. Anyone who is a member here could still do something like that if they really wanted, but just thought it might be help. |
