Very nice. You'll enjoy it! The dispersion is sometimes a little troll, but the guns hit hard and with proper angling she's a beast. The turning circle and rudder shift are also very good for a BB. Just remember, it has slow shells - so often you have to give more lead than you think.

Nice!
Note that it can be citadelled by any tier VIII and up BB, so stay angled. Also try to keep engagements at mid range, as it has crap long range dispersion, and a stealth build on your captain is viable (think my detection is 11 or 12 KM, which is hilarious for surprising folks).

Holy shit does it ricochet a lot of shots. Near broadside Normandie and I get one over pen and 6 bounces. Typically half my shots are bouncing. Wtf am I doing wrong?

The US AP of the Colorado and up is pretty devastating. I would suspect you're still hitting an angled part of the ship. I also found with the dispersion of the Alabama it's better to aim mid-belt than to try to go for waterline shots.
Load a training room with several BB "bots" and sail around getting a feel for what angles you can punish and when you should be shooting at superstructure. Also, I don't support the fire HE all the time BB meta - but if you're facing angled NC/Iowa/Missouri - don't be afraid to load an HE salvo. Two reasons: 1) you can set a fire and force DCP and 2) you might be able to bait a broadside from them if they think you are going to spam HE like a tard.

I think I was playing too far out and my shots weren't hitting vital bits. Last match I moved forward to about 13-14km, stayed angled, and started pounding stuff. Only finished with 102,000, but I tanked over 3 million and kept six reds busy while my team swept around and finished them. The credit earnings...my God.

When you get the feel for it, she's really a beast. *Only* 102k is still more than your hit points, so that's a success - plus the 3 million fired at you is 3 million not fired at the other green ships that might not be able to absorb that damage. Good Great work. I really feel like BBs tanking damage for the team should be more rewarded/showcased than it is. Remember that US AP does better at distance with "plunging fire" so rather than trying to hit belt line long range go for shots that will hit the deck. At that point you'll either get superstructure damage....or go through the deck and citadel the hell out of them. And most importantly: Happy Birthday!

Flamu talks about the focus on damage for xp means people don't get rewarded for playing as they should, and encourages BBs to sit back instead of tank.
