I figured out how to strafe and do manual drops!!!!

Manual strafe is an extremely situational ability. Sure, it CAN be extremely effective, but if you miss, or time it wrong, you may lose your entire fighter squadron.

Also keep in mind, if you have a friendly CV on your team in random battle, and you strafe his planes, you will kill them all. You must be careful not to wipe your teammates squadrons out in your attempt to take out the enemy. Much more important is to try to bait enemy fighters to engage yours over top of greeen cruiser or BB air coverage.



Manual drop for torps and dive bombers is a must. It increases your dive bombers chance to hit by probably 40%, which is massive. Against large targets like heavy cruisers or BB's it pretty much guarantees a hit. High tier American CV's also gain 1,000 lb AP bombs, which have a smaller drop area than HE bombs, and can citidel ships if they penetrate, making them devastatingly effective versus BBs and heavy cruisers. Its not rare in high tier play to see a CV insta-kill a BB with 2 bomber squad manual drops simultaneously.

Torpedos are obviously apocalyptic if you can work out the manual drops distance. If you take the captain skill that decreases torp range but increases speed, it makes a manual drop all but impossible to avoid. Always aim for where the ship is going, not where its at. You want to lead your target slightly, on a broadside bb,try to aim so that the attack line just slightly in front of its bow.
