Well, I am offically the proud owner of the tier 5 french BB. I got the personal mission in a loot box today.
It's guns seem to be alright, it is glacially slow though, like american BB's. Its top speed is 21kts, but its turning circle is an absolutely tiny 580m (almost as tight as Warspite!) which is smaller than a good portion of cruisers and even some DD's! It has a 12.5 rudder shift time.
5x2 340mm guns. 18.1km's range, which is pretty good. 30s reload speed, 180° turn time is 60 seconds. 244m dispersion.
Also, it has MASSIVE armour apparently. 330mm turret faces, 270mm barbette's. The slope of the turret faces puts its effective thickness to around 409mm. The ship seems like it would face tank EXCEPTIONALLY well. Only 41,700 hit points with a pitiful 10% torpedo damage reduction.
Max HE damage per shell is 4700. The shell velocity of the HE is an absolutely absurd 921 m/s!!!!!!! It has literally retardedly fast HE, only 26% fire chance though.

I rolled the dice on a 5-pack of the French loot boxes and got the following: - 10 Dragon Flags
- 10 Red Dragon Flags
- 1500 Doubloons
- 25 Revolutionary Camos
- Tier V Bretagne Quest
And the one that seems to be the hottest item

There is an event on right now where you earn 3 free french loot boxes each time you complete the event. You have a chance in each french loot box of finding a personal mission to earn the french BB of a specific tier.
I got my loot boxes from doing the event, so it was free for me, but they allow people to purchase the loot boxes too if they so choose, which gives you a much better chance of finding a mission, since its not guaranteed and the event is only good for I think 9 free lootboxes.

Yeah its basically a free chance to earn a ship. If you get a tier 7 or 8 I think it skips the prerequisite ships when the line actually comes out, and all earned ships get all upgrades free of charge.
My tier 5 Bretagne had all packages unlocked and free for it, which would save a LOT of grinding if you found the personal mission for the tier 8.

Well, sorry about the corrupted game. Gonna have to reinstall and hope it works. Got back in the game for one match in the Lyon. First game has classic WG MM...  Apparently French shells are all about overpens...  Can't complain too much though as the French Shotgun fires a lot of buckshot:  And the AA is surprisingly good especially for a 3-point captain.  |
