After playing the Atlanta on a WoWs rip-off game on my phone ( i really hope WG decide to put her on sale somepoint soon) , and using the De Grasse a bit more on WoWs, i'm starting to like cruisers. BBs are still my go to class but being able to relocate easily and the rof are very nice attributes. However i don't know much about the cruiser lines and their tier Xs. I hear alot of good things about the Hindenberg and the Des Moines but i was hoping you guys could enlighten me a bit more?

I'll come back to this tonight with more in depth information. But in short - there is no bad Tier 10 cruiser.
IMO Hindy and DM are the top 2, but all of them have their merits.
Hindy is very difficult to citadel with good firepower, hydro (or def AA), 6km torps. DM has LOL ROF with killer AP and 9.99km "long duration" radar. HIV has devastating long range firepower and is hard to hit due to it's speed - HIV contributes the least in a "team play" aspect. Moskva is called Battleship Moskva for a reason - great armor when angled, 11.7km "short duration" radar, and heavy firepower. Zao is still king of fires, great shell velocity, excellent concealment, troll armor, and the fastest torps in the game. Minotaur is an AP only Atlanta with an ROF that makes even the DM jealous - plus 10km torps and smoke or 9.9km hydro.
I'd really recommend watching this video:

I started off in WOWS as a DD-main but have mostly switched over to CL/CAs in the past couple of months because they are sort of the “do everything” class. They can be a true nightmare for every other class. Need to hunt down a DD? Send a cruiser. Wanna set the world on fire? Send a cruiser. Want to make CV captains hate life? Send a cruiser. You just need to pick your “flavor”.
I tend to prefer premiums (just like back in my WoT days) and really like the Duca D’Aosta, De Grasse, and Perth as general purpose “go-to” cruisers. If I’m looking to burn the world, I fire-up the Kutuzov. If I want to hunt DDs, the Belfast get the call. And if I want to kill anything that flies, piss-off every BB on the OpFor, and make DDs crap their pants, the USS DakkaDakkaDakka (Atlanta) gets the call.

You just need to pick your “flavor”. This is a very relevant statement. All the nations kind of have their own unique "flavor" and while I don't think any of the lines are "bad", they definitely have different strengths/weaknesses. As I mentioned all the T10s are good - but T6-T9 is where there are some better/worse ships - and having the T10 as the endgame is what keeps you grinding. Example - US has the best AA tier for tier; but also has floaty shell arcs making hitting a DD at longer ranges quite difficult but makes it easier to camp behind an island and rain fire. The ships handle fairly well and T7-T10 has the best pen angles for it's "super heavy" AP. On the other hand the Russian ships handle quite a bit worse (except Kutu), the AA isn't as good, the concealment is typically worse, and the much higher shell velocity makes shooting over island more difficult while hitting DDs at range is much easier.

Been using cruisers as of late myself. Currently on tier 3 American and German but I'm doing terrible in them lol.
Not sure if I should abandon one of them and go French or Japanese.
Most interested in speedy fast firing ships. Not sure where to go with that.

Soviet ships are good for pretty much one thing.
Burning battleships down. Badly. There is no way you cant hit a battleship at range with them, and the Shchors hits a BB for around 4k dmg plus fires every 6 seconds with IFHE. Russian cruisers are devestatingly powerful, but ONLY from medium to long range. They have hilariously bad armour and the entire ship is basically one big citadel.
I roam the map, hunting for overextended BB's, and mangling them badly until they explode or run away. Cruisers take HUGE damage from the IFHE, and DD's are a one hit if you connect with at least 6 of your 12 shells per broadside, if not ouright dying, then losing a huge portion of their hitpoints, as well as their steering gears, engines and torpedo tubes.
If anything attacks you in a Soviet cruiser, you run away like a bitch and then sneak back later and smash them when they are distracted.

Managed to get 5 stars on the operation and a medal for surviving (once again De Grasse proved to be great) and it gave me a free 10 point US captain so i'm going to give the US cruisers a go. Are there any shit ships on the US cruiser line that i should dread playing?

The St. Lois is slow but has a large hit point pool( 29k I think ) decent rate of fire but no torpedoes which drives me nuts at least. I tend to get overextended in her and die quickly, but that's my fault not the ship.

In fact, I'm saving some silver for the Aoba (tier VI IJN cruiser) so that my first VII is the Myoko -- I'll wait until the U.S. cruiser line splits before moving onward. (Note that, just like tanks, I'm in no rush to get to tier X.)

Pensacola sucks. Omaha isn't too fun, either because it's incredibly squishy and has that shitty tier 5 matchmaking. Cleveland is a fucking boss. The USN Cruiser split is rumored to drop in the second quarter of this year, so probably around April. I'd make it a goal to have Cleveland by then, as you'll get the tier 8 Cleveland for free.

Omaha and Pensacola both. Phoenix, too, but Phoenix gets much better matchmaking.

R35T NO MORE did you watch the T10 cruiser vid yet? Do you have any questions? Would you like me to do a little overview of the various ship lines? Re: The Pensacola - it is absolutely one of the most difficult cruisers to play well (Nurnberg being an honorable mention here). BUT, the Pensacola is like the North Carolina. If you can play the Pensacola well, you can play any cruiser well (same as NC, play it well and you can play any BB well). Sure you'll still eat random cits even when you play it perfectly...but again, the Pensacola will teach you how to play a cruiser.

I did, they all sound pretty great. Des Moines and Zao stood out. What's the IJN cruiser line like?

Tier 4 Kuma is a fantastic ship. Tier 5 Furutaka is the lowest tiered 8" gunned cruiser in the game. Decent speed, okay maneuverability, good torps, crap armor. Aoba at tier 6 is by all accounts "meh". The Mogami at tier 8 is unique, offering a choice between 8 8" guns, or 12 6" guns. The 6" 155 Mogami is the burninator of worlds. Don't know anything about the tier 9. Zao at tier X is the original HE spammer.

You also got a shitton of signals, Raging -- check those, too. As far as IJN cruisers, go -- I bought the Kuma back because it's a blast. The AP will shred cruisers giving you broadside, and the torps are not terrible. The Furry Taco at V was ... less than ideal. BUT it was my first V -- and that glorious tier V MM!! -- so I played it pretty much just in co-op I hated it so much. The reload is long for a cruiser and everything just citadelled me by looking my way. Think I'm ready to get the Aoba, however, and work my way up that tree. The French cruisers, from what I hear, are basically big DDs in that they are fast with no armor, but some folks really like them. Will do those at some point. Brits are tough due to nothing but AP. You have to know where and what to shoot because you can't burn shit to the ground. Wasn't a fan, tbh, but I hear the Memeataur can be hilarious fun...? The Germans I'm gonna start soon as well. They get stupid HE pen (1/4 of the caliber, vs. 1/6 for other nations) and good AP up close. Soviets have rail guns because lol RUSSSSSSSSSIIIAAAAA!! Their torps and concealment are horseshit, however, so they are true support ships that just burn distracted enemies. And the X is apparently basically a BB in CL form.
