It's basically my current hook at the moment outside of Mother 3, I got myself the battle pass while it was on sale so maybe that has something to do with my high playtime on it recently. For those that have no clue, it's a free (currently) cartoony version of PUBG pretty much save with no vehicles and building, but don't quote me on the "with building" part because I've not seen much of the other game and don't feel like shelling out money for a game genre I can play for free as-is. Epic updates this game fairly frequently with new weapons, consumables and gamemodes to try out, so there is some freshness to it. And if anybody here does play it on Xbox One feel free to pitch a friend request or party invite my way (Dyslexsticks) if you need someone to watch your back. I'm no good at building spontaneous forts yet though, just be warned.

I've got it, haven't given it a proper go yet though. Tried once or twice but died before finding a gun. Didn't know you could play in a group on it, will have to give it another go.

Yeah that does suck sometimes but at least you don't have to wait to get into another game unlike in WoT.
If you want to get to the ground quicker, dive for the lower terrain and let your glider auto-deploy by itself (you don't need to press A, nobody else is). Because of that you can scramble for guns earlier than some others.
Fair thing to note too should you group up, if you're in a group of 2, you'll be matched against other pairs, and likewise if the group is 3 or 4 people big.
You don't die instantly if you get shot down in groups either, instead you'll be in a "bleed out" state until you're revived, the rest of your squad is knocked down, or you get shot some more while crawling.
Best thing you can do is practice, this game was merciless to me as a beginner.

Thanks for the tips. Got a noob question, should i jump out of the bus straight away or wait and jump out over a quiet area? Depends, jump early and head to a marked location and things will be pretty intense. If you want to practice gunfights, that's what you wanna do, but if you'd rather take it slow, head for some buildings in unmarked locations of the map, perhaps when the bus is halfway across or at the last stop (the point you're forced to jump). You can loot in relative peace in some areas but you won't give your trigger finger much practice which you'll need as the storm edges ever closer and you're forced to kill to loot. If you start to receive fire from behind you can press B turn round and press RT to spam walls for cover if you have at least 10 of any material. It should help give you a bit of breathing room to figure out exactly where the attacks are coming from as you use the 3rd person camera to peek around cover.

I suck at those "Battle royal" style games, run a mile and end up getting shot in the back
