Used some free XP to upgrade the range before taking it into battle. First thoughts: This ship is perfect for kiting. 2 out of its 3 turrets are in the back. German HE has IFHE built in, so it's fairly effective. And with DE taken, it has a decent fire chance. 4 triple torpedo launchers, 2 per side, with a 6 km range are great at ambushing and fighting DDs. And that "Made in German" Hydro consumable is fantastic. With the upgraded range module, she can fire at targets over 17 km away, which is more than most of my tier 6 cruisers. Hell, she outranges the Texas. The aft turrets also rotate 360 degrees, which makes it much easier to keep your guns on target when your charging down a DD or CL.
Downsides: Like all tier 5 ships not named Texas, the AA is crap. It can't mount the Defensive Fire consumable either, so it's vulnerable to air attack. It's also slow compared to the other CLs, with a top speed of 32 knots. Still, that's a massive step up from the Karlsruhe's 27 knots. She's also fragile, and her shell arcs are rather floaty at long range.
All in all, I like it. She's certainly a much better cruiser than the Emerald or Omaha. This grind might actually be enjoyable (aside from the garbage tier 5 matchmaking).

That ship is a scalpel. Use AP rounds vs cruisers to hilariously brutal effect. She fires rapidly and its not uncommon to score 5 citadels in a single broadside if you aim properly. Keep her at range and the plunging fire from her guns will smash holes straight through the decks of most ships, including some BB's, for ridiculous damage. I averaged probably 7k dmg per broadside vs cruisers, and 4k damage per broadside for BB's, sometimes more. If you find yourself within about 10k of a BB, depending which one, you can find yourself scoring citadels.

I actually quite enjoyed Konigsberg/Nurnberg. They are squishy and easy to kill...but the 360* rear turrets, quick rate of fire, good range, strong AP, good HE, and general maneuverability made them quite enjoyable to play. Enjoy the grind and my tip would just be, try not the be the most appealing target for the enemy BBs.
