Just a PSA - a lot of players across multiple servers (mostly NA, but SEA is also being reported) are being banned. Apparently botting is the accusation, but no one is really sure why. Players with mods and without mods are receiving 7 day bans. WG hasn't responded yet, so log in at your own risk. Source - Wargaming appears to have deleted the entire thread, but it was 16 pages. Edit: As many of you know, I run mods and have recommended them. So I bit the bullet and logged in at 11:45pm CST. Played a co-op battle, exited, and logged back in. I personally had no issues and received no ban. I did not disable or uninstall any mods. It's now being reported that something called ReShade (it essentially sharpens the game image and applies filters) or another background type process may be causing the "cheat detection", but again - no real firm source on that. Edit 2: WG is aware of the issue and is investigating
Edit 3: This morning my game updated to 0.6.11.1 and I downloaded the update for Aslain's mod pack. Installed the same mods I always use and again logged in without any issues. No ban. I am now confident in saying that mods from Aslain's pack are not the issue. There's no way I would have got away with it 4 times if that were there case, especially after a very recent update. There is something else going on that is not mods. Edit 4: WarGaming has now stated the ban is due to a program called ReShade. Mods did not cause it. Wargaming's Official Statement

Thanks for the update man. I run the game with no mods or anything fancy like that, so I hope to dodge the issues. Server population is low enough without compmete bans of players.

Is there anyway of knowing if we have been banned without logging in? I wasn't aware the game had training rooms, how do we enable/disable those and replays?

Is there anyway of knowing if we have been banned without logging in? I wasn't aware the game had training rooms, how do we enable/disable those and replays? A few people said they had notification e-mails from WG prior to trying to launch the game. As for the training rooms, as Cap'nKaito linked you can either manually enable them or Aslain's mod pack can enable it for you. I edited the OP also, but WoWS updated to 0.6.11.1 this morning and I updated Aslain's mod pack and reinstalled my mods. Still no issues and no ban. I don't believe mods have any impact on this ban, there is something else going on. Either people actually cheated or used bot programs or it's related to a program that hooks into the game - like ReShade or GeForce Experience or something like that.

Edited with latest info. Reshade is the culprit. Mods were not.
Hello, everyone!
Allow us to shed some light on the situation with temporary bans applied yesterday.
Some accounts that were using the ReShade software were subject to a ban yesterday. ReShade and the likes are mostly used to modify the visual content of the game, however, the root mechanics of such add-ons are very similar to some of the cheating mods & allow third parties to create malicious versions to inject into executable files & libraries. Unfortunately, this means, that while the intentions of most of our users are benign, the code can still be harmful. As of now all of ReShade users have been unbanned today and provided with compensation.
As we are working constantly on improving the game client's protection for the sake of fair play, such mods as Reshade (in addition to the proven cheat ones) have caused some bans, and therefore will soon be prohibited. We understand that you might like the variety they bring, but the risks of the modified source code being used to cheat or even steal your accounts, far outweigh the rewards in this case. All of this means that we will soon issue an official statement, prohibiting its further use, as a part of our ongoing effort to protect the game client.
We are continuously investigating many 3rd party software modifications which become popular within our player base to ensure that their use will not affect our players now or in future. At the same time, we’re improving our engine to let mod-makers do their job & improve their mods using native engine methods.
As of right now, we ask that players remove ReShade and any similar mods to make sure you don’t receive any unwarranted bans or lose your account data to third parties.
Regards, The World of Warships NA Publishing Team.
