Is she worth it guys? I'm British so obviously there's that, and really enjoying the Graf spee and Hood is another ship with some BB traits and good mobility, and Hood also looks like she can tank alot of damage which is something that, as a newb, is appealing. What are your opinions guys?

I've never played the Hood but I've played against them quite a bit. The speed seems quite good and she does a pretty good job messing-up cruisers. Let us know what you think.

Spent the evening using Hood, she's given me my best string of games yet. Only downsides so far are that her guns can troll a bit (but not much) and there's no spotter plane. Upsides are a huge hp pool, 67k, with armour that holds up well when angled. She sails at 32 knots and i can be of plenty of use in the late stages of a game unlike other BBs that are just too slow.
Her AA is insane. Not a single plane survived coming near Hood, my Texas wishes it had this kind of AA and that's saying something. Whilst the guns can troll, they are capable of inflicting a lot of damage. Cruisers and DDs are xp snacks. Other BBs take a while to kill but due to the hp Hood can weather the storm and wear them down. She excels at kiting and i managed to win a 2v1 against 2 Scharnhorsts earlier by doing that.
So far, Hood suits my playstyle perfectly, i'll be playing this alot.

I've heard good things about the Scharnhorst, less so about her sister ship, which is next for me as i'm grinding the Bayern atm, so i'm hoping the T7 isn't as bad as i'm hearing. Just carried a (co-op) game with Hood, ended up alone, half hp, against a full hp Hood. Randoms don't know what kiting is apparently, they were saying i should go broadside lol. My best dmg game yet: I know it was just co-op but it still felt like a clutch lol, this ship is really tanky, loving it. Yurei, i can't thank you enough mate.

Randoms don't know what kiting is apparently This. This is the key to staying alive when you shouldn't be. And also nice win.

I've never bought her so I didn't know how she would play. Looks like you've found your niche.

I find coop battles and operations especially to be great fun, especially in a division. Sometimes the horseshit of random games can get tedious, especially in the garbage teammate department, and coop allows you significantly more control on the outcome of the battle.
Every ship you have will seem strong, and there is much less pressure to perform, providing much more relaxed and enjoyable gameplay.
It also serves the dual purpose of helping you to learn the shell arcs and velocities of each ship, torpedo range and AA ability, as well as handling characteristics like rudder shift times and turning radii.
The new operation is a Naval Base assault. So there are shore installations and ships in dock that you must attack, as well as fuel depots and aircraft hangers. It adds a fun change up to the game.

Imagine a reverse sidescraping position, where you're angled with your gun aiming behind you, kind of like that, where you sail away from a ship instead of driving a small distance from a wall. Typically they head straight after you, meaning they can only use guns mounted forward of the conning tower, whilst you can use all your aft turrets and and a maybe 1 or 2 frontal ones too. You will also be angled against them. At least that's what i believe it is, i've been doing alot of damage whilst taking alot less whilst doing that. Below is part of a PM i set to Matador, contains all i've learned so far (the nation summary is just for BBs) I'm still a noob myself mate (only get to play 2-3 battles at a time as i get 1 hour of free time per day at best), but there's a couple of things i've learned that help in game. First, go to settings, controls, and look at the bottom left for an option regarding dynamic UI or something similar (i posted it in my WowS noob thread), turn that on. Next, when in game, there is a setting icon to the top right corner of the mini map i believe, you should be able to enable view range display in there. Regarding aiming, if you have enabled the setting above, you will see a shell travel time indicator as well as range. You will also notice numbers running along the horizontal crosshair. These shows how far you have to lead by seconds. For instance if a ship is 5 seconds away, place the 5 on the crosshair on their bow, then fire. Things get more complicated if they are travelling at a diagonal angle. I tend to halve the aiming lead. If they are sailing directly toward, or away from you, aiming at the bow tends to do the trick. You can also change crosshair type in the settings>control page. I like No.10 but there are 14 to choose from. When aiming at a ship, you want to try and hit the citadel, which runs along the centre of the ship, typically at or just below the waterline. For this reason never go full broadside. Just like tanks, angling is important. If you want to fire all your guns, angle enough to bring them to bear (without going full broadside if you can) , fire, then go back to a pointing near (not directly toward) the enemy. I only ever try to bring all my guns to bear if i'm aiming a distracted enemy and no one is aiming at me, or i'm about to die anyway and want to just get a hit in before i sink. If an enemy angles against you, and you don't have large calibre guns that can overmatch, fire HE instead of AP. Other than that, kiting is important. This comes into play when making a retreat or trying to bait enemies. You do it by sailing away from an enemy at an angle, when your guns are ready to fire, increase the angle so all can be brought to bear, fire, then go back to your original angle (similar to a reverse sidescraping position in tanks, except you keep sailing forwards). You present a small, angled target, and most people sail straight at you, meaning they can only fire their fore turrets, but you can fire both fore and aft turrets, and if they try to go broadside, you punish them by aiming for their citadel. If they try to angle like you are doing, then, like mentioned above, load HE. Regarding the nations, i've gone for BBs so don't know about the others but here's a quick summary of the BBs so far: Japanese are fairly fast, have the biggest guns and longest shell firing ranges but the armour isn't great and they are fairly easy to citadel. US are slow, have plenty of armour, good AA and fairly good guns, easy to citadel though. Germans are brawlers. Shell ranges aren't great, mobility is average. Powerful guns, great armour and near impossible to citadel. British have napalm launchers basically. I'm at tier 4 and the Orion can 1 shot any same tier or even 1 tier higher ship with HE as it does the same damage per shell as the US tier X Montana battleship (and ships below tier 5 get PMM so highest it sees is 5). Britannia rules the waves lol, but Her Majesties battleships aren't balanced and i expect a nerf at some point.

The AA on this ship is, frankly, fucking hilarious. Had a poor CV send everything he had against my Hood, i'm guessing because of the British op. His planes dropped like flies, all i could hear was the sound of them plunging and crashing.
For those who haven't seen Hoods AA capability, here's a vid by Flamu showing exactly how ridiculous it is:
