I preparation for Enterprise, I've started grinding the Langley in co-op. Managing all the planes is difficult, but dropping aerial cancer on poor bot ships is fun as hell.

Treated myself to the Kaga over the weekend as with the doubloons bundled I managed to get myself the Kutuzov as well.
My god the Kaga when top tier is SOOOO OP. downside is T6 planes on a T7 carrier and as always the fighters get rofl stomped by US fighters but my god the 2 torp bomber squads can put big holes in ships HP pools.
The kutuzov is the most fun I have ever had in a ship. 3 games played in her, 3 games of over 100k damage and multiple kills. Russian Bias at work lol. God help us if they put any russian CV's in.

They already released the kaga!? How does it compare to the Siapan?
Also I'm having trouble understanding how IJN is OP comapared to USN on CVs. As at tier 5 one had more torpedo squads but not enough fighters, the other has a bunch of fighters but one bomber squad. Also tier 6 seems to lean towards USN. Even though I have air superiority my fighters still struggle against the US fighters, even if I play the 3 fighter squadren loadout. And only having one torp and bomb squad really limits the damage I can do.
All in all, I did pretty good at 5 as long as I was top tier. Tier 6 my team hates me, I feel lucky to break 50k damage.

If you come up against a GOOD Saipan player then grin and bear it and hope for the best. Best loadout for Kaga is 2 x fighter, 2 x torp and 1 x dive bomber. The Torps are fast and have an intetresting spread. Bearing in mind the planes are only T6 you will loose some if not all against BB's and AA cruisers. However you get 85 planes in reserve so you can take losses and it not impact as much as in other CV's. Ive only played a handful of games but im liking it so far. |

Because of the better packages. IJN CVs get much better options. A US strike package has shit for fighters, if any at all. An IJN strike also has enough fighters to lock up the US fighters while the bombers get through to the targets. IJN squads also re-arm much faster than US squads. |

But the Bogue's got a package that gets two fighter squads. And don't they get more planes in there squadrens? 5 instead of 4? Also maybe it's my luck but it seems like the USN fighters are better too.

The Hiryu 2/2/2 stomps the USN 1/1/1 and 0/1/3, fielding more fighters and a better strike package than either one. If it faces a 2/0/2 Ranger it can lock down both fighter squads while the strike planes go in and out. It gets worse the higher the tier. |

oh, and the planes never crash into things. I've seen them "hit" the water dozens of times with no problem. Just watch out for US Cruisers, some Brit (high tier) cruisers, and a few other ships. And if you see an Atlanta, stay the hell away as she will eat through your planes like Rosie O'Donnell at a free buffet.

Also many of the US BBs have good AA. Kutuzov is a sneaky little bugger. You'll think you're sending planes over a DD and then bam...all your planes are gone. I tried playing CV on the PTS. I might get the hang of it with some time, but damn it was difficult. Just so much going on that you have to control that I had brain overload. |

USN fast battleships (T8+) are super dangerous, but only if AA specced. If they aren't AA specced or if they have been HE spammed then the threat is almost completely nullified. USN cruisers T6+, especially Cleveland, Atlanta and Des Memes. Russian T8+ cruisers. German BBs T8+. Brit T8+ cruisers (below that they are free meals).
Things to focus on: Any IJN battleship or cruiser, their AA is not the best and IJN BBs have pretty big turning circles. Brit cruisers up to the Fiji - bombs do a ton of damage to them. Up to T7, any battleship is a floating punching bag, except for Texas and Hood (but Hood is only dangerous to DBs).
